“Fabulous for a York stay” We enjoyed our stay so much for 6 nights! The location makes it very easy to walk into the city and the train station. On a quiet (we saw the review about the gym noise.. saw the spinners but never heard a sound!) and upscale street, the apartment is just as you see in the photos- comfortable, immaculate, with every detail attended to in the furnishings, bathroom, and the kitchen. Maggie was so helpful with her communication before arriving, and welcomed us so warmly with great information about the apartment and the area. Highly recommended and we would be delighted to return!
“Wonderful Week” We visit York a lot but this is the first time we have stayed in Sue and John's flat. A lovely comfortable spotless well maintained flat with a great shower great wifi and parking in a central yet quiet location at a reasonable price - what more could anyone need or want?!
The "goodies" provided as a welcome were really appreciated as the last thing you want to do after a long drive is go to the supermarket - it was great to be able just to chill on our first night. A really thoughtful touch. Sadly we didn't meet Sue but John welcomed us personally which was nice and all messages / communications were friendly easy and prompt. These owners really do go the extra mile to make sure your whole experience is a positive one - everything went very smoothly.
We would without question recommend this flat for an individual traveller or a couple. We will definitely return next year - fingers crossed that the week we need is free!
“Lovely house” Well I couldn't fault the house. Lovely space great rooms in a good location 10 minutes walk in to York centre. Please be aware that there are 3 deep steps down in to the bathroom from the on suite bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden a lovely bonus. Unfortunately there was miscommunication on our arrival that spoilt the start of our stay. It was the first holiday for my son and his new wife after their wedding a few days earlier. They had come from Canada to visit family and get married and I had asked if we could get in earlier explaining this but we didn't get in any earlier. We were not greeted due to the owner being unable to come as his car was in the garage. There was no key for access and we had to wait for the cleaner to let us in. We arrived at 3pm the cleaner arrived at half past 3 when letting us in we were told the house hadn't been cleaned from the previous tenants and we ended up sitting around till it was cleaned this was done eventually by 5pm. What a shame because the house was lovely but it did spoil the fact that we expected a lovely start to the holiday after their wedding which is why I told the owner that they would be newly married when we arrived so everything would be perfect. At least the cleaner gave them a bottle of bubbly as an apology and congratulations!!!
“Superb well-located house” Brilliant location close to the river and Museum Gardens, and a five minute walk into the centre of York. The house was beautifully appointed and was spotlessly clean - very comfortable and pleasant.
“Lovely apartment” 3 of us stayed 3 nights in this lovely apartment.
The location is excellent for everything York has to offer.
The apartment is spotless and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and the owner very kindly provides a welcome pack including bread, milk, butter, cake and a bottle of fizz.
There is the benefit of a secure parking bay.
I can not recommend this apartment highly enough
“Fab apartment - 2nd visit” This was our second visit and it was just as great this time. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and modern. It is so easy to book the apartment and we wanted to stay an extra night at the last minute which was sorted really easily. The apartment is so near the city walls, it is really convenient for sightseeing and shopping, as well as pubs and restaurants and the parking space is a definite bonus. On our next visit to York, we will definitely stay here (again). If you like a curry, then we recommend the Viceroy restaurant just round the corner from the apartment on Monkgate and if you like steak, there is an absolutely brilliant Argentinian steak house called El Goucho on Walmgate.
“Stunning historical Tower in the centre of York” Our three night stay at Lendal Tower was truly memorable. From the moment of booking we were treated as honoured guests and nothing was too much trouble for Nathan and his team. The Tower, which has so much history attached to it, has been sympathetically refurbished to a very high standard and the attention to detail is faultless. The addition of a roof terrace, with stunning views over York, a delightfully little garden and secure parking were a very welcome, and much appreciated, bonus. The Tower's situation is so convenient and is within a few minutes walk of the Minster, The Shambles and a variety of lovely restaurants. There cannot be a better place to stay in York!! We will definitely be back!
“This accommodation is the 'bees knees'!” This is a very well thought- out apartment, extremely comfortable and being situated so close to everything you would care to visit in York, we were able to pop back to the apartment within 5 - 10 mins., which we did regularly. Thanks to Sarah and this lovely city we had a wonderful holiday.
“Fabulous, comfortable, well located, and beautifully furnished!” A lovely apartment with everything we needed for our short stay. an easy walk to many nearby restaurants and main tourist attractions. Secure off street parking so no need to park in York at all. Well equipped kitchen , lovely clean bedrooms with comfortable beds.. We also had problems with hot water though as did other renters but managed to work out the booster switch and showered at different times. Lovely balcony and lounge area. Many good restaurants in Fossgate area and easy access for walk around the walls. Would stay here again. Good local restaurants Masons, Loch Fyne and Golden Fleece!
“Delightful, very special flat in perfect location” We parked by the Castle and a few minutes' walk brought us to the well-maintained and inviting Merchants Place. This was not the inner city flat one might expect, but something very comfortable and modern, with a child friendly balcony and stunning views. I thought the ultra modern hob would defeat me, but there were excellent instructions so that was not a problem. The bathroom was downright swish, and the layout overall very comfortable. I look forward to another stay.
“Excellent property to stay if visiting York” Excellent property to stay if visiting York. Very clean and all you need for a great get away. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended to friends and family and will definitely go back. Sofa beds are very comfortable and place is ideal for 2 to 4 people. Also had the pleasure of meeting Lynne the owner who was lovely. Only a short walk to York Minster and shops. A great city to visit with lovely friendly people.
“Highly Recommended” Just got back from a short stay at Owl’s Nest lodge and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Immaculately clean on arrival and the welcome basket with milk, tea, coffee, chocolates and snacks was an unexpected bonus. Very cosy, homely and well equipped lodge on a very quiet site. Lovely hot tub under a canopy with light so can be enjoyed at all times and all weathers. 10 min drive to the park and ride into York which we used twice. Three bedrooms but we only needed two so the owners gave us a reduced rate and just kept the 3rd room locked.
Highly recommended and we will be returning next year!
“Home from home” Great apartment, close enough to the city to walk but far enough away that you can get away from the hustle and bustle.
Cosy homely feel, with well stocked cupboards. The welcome basket was a lovely touch.
Nothing was too much trouble prior to our visit and appreciated the welcome email just to check everything was ok on our arrival.
Would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a trip to York.
“Excellent apartment right in the middle of York” We stayed at this apartment for 2 weeks recently and cannot fault it. The owners include special touches such as milk, cereals, sauces, toiletries and even a bottle of wine and slice of cake! Beautifully appointed and very cosy. It is in a fabulous location right in the centre of York and so handy to so many good pubs, restaurants, public transport and shopping. Highly recommend!
“Great location, beautiful house” We stayed for 2 nights, wish we could have stayed for more! Lovely clean holiday home, absolutely perfect location, walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. A welcome pack of breakfast bits and bobs and wine waiting for us, a very nice touch! Everything you need in the house. Unfortunately it rained so we couldn't use the BBQ or the lovely outdoor area looking over the river. If we return to York we would definitely book again. Highly recommended!!

Pear Tree Holiday Home
A Home away from Home
This is an absolute find in York. The house itself is absolutely immaculate, Mrs Hinch herself would be impressed! There is nothing that is not provided by the hosts, even had some choccies awaiting our arrival. We did have a slight problem connecting to the Wi-Fi when we arrived, so popped a text to the owner, and within 5 mins Katie got back to us with the code. Just cannot fault the decor of the house, it was just beautiful, and is so close to the Shambles and fantastic restaurants but was also so so quiet with no through traffic.
We visit York every year, and I was disappointed our usual Guest House was fully booked, I was very wary about booking somewhere new, but I am so glad we did, this is definately our new go to place in York, and we have already recommended it to others.
Keep up the good work guys, your holiday home is a credit to you both …

Park View Chase
Home from home
Had a fabulous stay here, Karen couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful. The house is perfect for a family, I took my elderly parents, partner and kids and it was brilliant. Plenty of space, very well equipped with toys and DVD’s for the kids. A lovely homemade cake was there for us and tea and coffee. We took a ten minute stroll to Rawcliffe park and ride into the city, which was ideal and cheap too at £10 for the six of us for a day ticket. Fabulous place, we will be back. …
The lodge is to an extremely high standard with all mod cons and kitted out with everything you could need. I was part of a hen party and we all had an amazing time. The games room is such a fab entertaining space. We arrived at 4pm on the Friday and the owners mum such a lovely lady showed us round. We left about 930 on the Monday morning, arrived home and my mum had left her charger for her medical machine, we called and my dad went to pick it up and owner was great allowing access to collect it.
This is the second time we have been this year for a weekend and already booked for another next Feb. I can’t rate it high enough. …
