The Argyll and Bute region

Oban has a population of approx. 8,000 people and is the unofficial capital of the West Highlands, it is also known as the Gateway to the Islands due to its excellent ferry links. No matter what time of year you visit there is always a buzz in the town due to the number of ferry's that come and go on a daily basis.

There are 3 golf courses (1 x 18 hole and 2 x 9 hole) within 25 miles of the apartment along with a variety of activities to keep the whole family entertained - sealife sanctuary, Oban Whisky distillery, swimming pool, leisure centre, soft play, cinema, tennis and squash courts, boat trips to the local islands and to see the wildlife - you may be lucky enough to see seals or even dolphins, beautiful walks and a variety of Munro's in the surrounding area and there are also 5 castles within a 40 mile radius.

Oban is renowned for it's folly also know as McCaig's Tower. A wealthly banker, Stuart McCaig, designed and commissioned the building of the folly between 1897 and 1902 as a lasting monument to his family and to provide work for the local stonemasons during the winter months - it is well worth walking or driving up to witness the breath-taking views from the folly.

15 miles from Oban is Cruachan Power Station. This is a must see for any visitor to the area due to the fact that hidden deep within the mountain 'Ben Cruachan' is a fully working power station.

Oban has a large selection of restaurants and bars to cater for all tastes whether it be traditional pub food, Scottish, Chinese, Indian, Mediteranean, Italian, Fish and Seafood - why not enjoy a walk along the seafront on your way to dinner in one of the excellent restaurants.

Oban is within the county of Argyll and is situated on the West Coast of Scotland. Travel distance from Glasgow is 90 miles and 120 from Edinburgh which both have international airports.

Trains and buses depart Oban 3 times daily to Glasgow and there are also 3 journeys from Glasgow to Oban daily. Both modes of transport take approximately 3 hours.

The apartment is approx 0.7km from both the train and bus stations. The apartment is within easy walking distance and there is also a taxi rank right beside the stations therefore there would no requirement to travel by car.

Oban has 4 supermarkets, Tesco's, Co-op, Aldi and Lidl all close by the apartment and the shops and main hustle and bustle of the town is only a 5 minute walk.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Bay Apartment in Oban. Excellent location with lovely views over the port and bay. The apartment was immaculately clean, had a lovely big kitchen and was well equipped with everything you need for a great holiday, in this gorgeous part of Scotland. Will definitely return one day.

"Lovely Bay Apartment"

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night break at Little Bay Apartment. It's in a great location for enjoying Oban, particularly for the ferry terminal. The decor and cleanliness were impeccable while the owners Jane & Kevin could not have been more helpful in responding to queries prior to our arrival. The little extra touches such as biscuits, snacks, DVDs and books made it a real home from home. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering a visit to the area.

Thanks for the lovely review of your stay at Littlebay Apartment. Its much appreciated. Thanks again.

"It was perfect."

We stayed in Little Bay Apartment in July 2014. It was better than we could imagine. It was the first the first long trip with our children and they loved this place! This is a perfect family apartment! A lovely place with Everything that you need for a peaceful holiday. Clean, tidy and full of details for children and parents: toys, games, fluffy toys, books and dvds. Wide and comfortable rooms and awesome living room. The TV screen was big, but Oban Bay views from the apartment were better Everything was absolutely charming, the apartment and the owners. Oban was our first stop in Scotlamd, after we went to Skye and Edinburgh, we stayed in good apartments, Yet we remembered all the time Little Bay, because was the Best. We hope we Will come back one day.

Thank you for your lovely review of Littlebay Apartment, we are glad you and your children enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back again sometime.

The main sleeping room in very romantic with a nice view on the bay. The kitchen is well equipped and big. In the house you can find everything you need. Jane is very kind, she provide everything for our baby and a welcome pack, gorgeous!!! We would have stayed more days but we needed to leave to continue our holiday trip.
