Description from owner

Description

Olde Blue Bell Barn is a warm cottage with a south westerly aspect. It catches the sun from early in the morning until dusk, witnessing stunning sunsets over the fells and Kent estuary. It is located in the quiet village of Heversham. For a relaxing drink, there is a traditional pub just 5 minutes walk from the cottage, or to work up a thirst you can walk from the door up Heversham fell, and experience stunning views of the Lakeland hills and estuary. A welcome pack will guide you around the local area; fresh tea and coffee, will greet you from your journey.

It has 2 bedrooms, a double room and a twin room. The double room can easily take an extra single bed, which we provide as a full size single mattress on a folding pine base. The bathroom is newly equipped with large bath, electric shower and underfloor heating for extra comfort.

A combined lounge / dining room and separate kitchen are located on the upper floor to allow full benefit of the views and evening sun.

Location description from owner

The England region

Milnthorpe

Located at the centre of the quiet village of Heversham in the picturesque South Lakes, Olde Blue Bell Barn is just 15 minutes from Lake Windermere, 10 minutes from the coastline, and perfectly placed for a whole host of breathtaking views. You can walk from the door of the cottage over Heversham Head for views of the Lakeland fells and Cumbrian coastline, and witness stunning sunsets.

The stunning coastline of Arnside is a designated area of outstanding beauty, and is on the outskirts of the vast reed beds of the Leighton Moss RSPB nature reserve. Walks over the Arnside Knott reveal a 360 degree panorama of both coastline and fells. The area is excellent for low level walks or cycling.

The village of Milnthorpe is a mile away, with a Booths supermarket, family butchers, and a whole host of other useful shops and places to eat and drink. The location is perfect for exploring the spectacular Lakeland scenery, as well as providing easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and Penines. We provide maps for the area, and a whole box full of leaflets with ideas on places to visit, or activities to try. It is an ideal base for a whole host of outdoor activities or just chilling out!

“wonderful !!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2016

having stayed in many holiday cottages over the years we can honestly say this was the best ! The property was to an exceptional standard and everything we needed was there. It was lovely to arrive after a long journey and find the welcome tea and biscuits waiting! Lots of information supplied whether it was for sightseeing, eating out or just general information. Mary even helped us out on our journey there with recommendations. The location was perfect for visiting the area. all of the lakes were in easy driving distance and lovely walks nearby. all in all a perfect relaxing place to stay. We didn't want to leave!!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so glad that your holiday really ticked all the boxes for you, and that you enjoyed your stay at Olde Blue Bell Barn. I hope you have lots of happy memories from your week. It was really lovely meeting you both, and I hope to see you again sometime. Mary
