Taxi: book in advance: Terry’s Taxi Uplyme, Matt’s Cab Lyme Regis Train station 5 minutes drive toAxminster, which links to city of Exeter (40 minutes on train) London 2.45 hours away. Planes: Exeter Airport is 45 minutes drive from the property.

“Amazing... a definite must do again!!”

What can I say.. a very beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing place. Joy the host has thought of absolutely everything. The property was very clean and extremely well equipped with everything you should need. It even has a tv in the kitchen, as well as the bedroom and obviously the lounge. She has thought of everything, down to the clothes horse to hang your wet swimming costumes from the hot tub outside, to high vis jackets and a torch for your trip to the pub in the evening. The property has all kitchen appliances, even a washer dryer, and dishwasher. The location itself was very peaceful and is also within walking distance to a lovely pub with amazing food and a nice beer garden. The highlight for my partner and myself was the hot tub... we have come home so relaxed and energised, our four nights have felt like a good week and a half.. that's how relaxed we felt. I would recommend you book if you are looking for a lovely romantic get away, as it is just perfect. Joy has taken care to provide laminates with some very useful ideas of where to visit and where to eat. You are very close to the West Bay Beach that is filmed in the television programme Broadchurch.. stunning! Also, how can I forget, Joy's amazing breakfast basket, full with goodies. Jams, marmalade, a variety of cereals, joys special homemade muesli, peanut butter, marmite, bucks fizz, biscuits, hot chocolate sachets, eggs and milk, and of course her homemade loaf of bread. (I'm sure I have missed something out). All in all a very pleasant stay, so much so, that we didn't want to leave.. Thank you Joy.. we will definitely be returning. Easy to find and in a great location, I can highly recommend Acorns Garden Apartment at Hedgehog Corner if you;re looking for a luxurious, relaxing place to stay. Joy's welcome is warm and sincere and she takes great care to ensure that you feel comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean - especially the hot tub which was always crystal clear. The food at the local pub is great - the decor not so good (but then that's just my opinion!) We will definitely return as some point in the near future

Acorns is a warm cosy comfortable place to stay with a touch of luxury, Joy has covered every thing! Plenty of information , a text to say Acorns was ready early, a warm greeting and shown where every thing is and how it all works, the hot tub an added bonus! A perfect location for River Cottage HQ, Lyme Regis and many other attractive places to visit. The Hunters Lodge pub serves delicious food, booking recommend. We will return!

“Beautifully relaxing stay”

We stayed in Acorns at Hedgehog Corner over the New Year period to celebrate New Year's Eve at close by River Cottage HQ, my husband's birthday and our second wedding anniversary. We were met and introduced to our accommodation by the gregarious and welcoming Joy before being left to enjoy the thoroughly high spec apartment. Of course the highlights were the breakfast basket, including homemade bread and muesli made by our host Joy, and the decadent hot tub! Thoughtful touches throughout make this a really special place to stay. Would definitely recommend and choose to visit again.

“Can't get better”

This is truly the best accommodation we have stayed at, including b & b and hotels. We arrived early after a long journey and Joy had the property ready for us to start our 10 night stay. Joy greeted us with a smile and showed us around this beautiful and secluded accommodation. I must say she has thought of everything that u may need on your holiday. The breakfast basket was marvellous and filled with lots of goodies. Being there 10 nights gave us the opportunity to try most of what was on offer from the slipper bath, walk in shower, oven etc etc. We also used the washer/dryer and even got the hang of it after a few goes. There are 3 t.v which all work . The room sizes and just perfect and the conservatory very large and bright. We used the tub 8 out of the 10 nights we were there and throughly enjoyed it. When the lights are out and the sky is clear u can see all of the stars. We even seen some shooting stars. (Made a few wishes) Nothing was too much trouble for Joy if u needed, but she was never intrusive, we were left to our own devises but she was always there if u had any questions. There is loads of information on what and where to go and the wifi worked great. We will definitely be back. Thanks Joy x

“Amazing, peaceful, relaxing, everything you could possibly need all wrapped up in a beautiful, romantic retreat”

Joy was fabulous from start to finish. She was very accommodating with my wishes to surprise my partner for our anniversary by making it extra special. We had email communication over several weeks before our trip to make sure everything would be perfect... which is was more than! The property was gorgeous and in a fabulous setting, especially with the hot tub hidden to the side of the property. We were able to relax with a glass of champagne in the hot tub looking up at the stars thanks to Joy's great planning of having special acrylic glasses that are shatter proof... she really has thought of everything.... from yellow hiviz vests to walk to the pub, to picnic hampers to all sorts! It was near to Lyme Regis which was great for us to easily go for dinner in the evening and was easy to find ... in fact we had spent several days, before our stay at Acorns, travelling around the south coast and Lyme Regis and had spotted the sign on our way in so we knew exactly where to go! Helpful Tip - It is also worth, if trip advisor etc says this accommodation is free for one night but doesn't let you book, going straight to Joy's website as these other sites tend to not let you book for any less than 2 or 3 nights. Go and stay for yourselves and see how tranquil this place is :)

“Absolutely amazing!”

Joy was there with a friendly and warm welcome, she gave us a detailed tour of the cottage. It was spotless and had everything it stated on the advert. Unlike other places I have visited, everything was labelled i.e how the shower works, where the hair dryer is etc, makes life sooo much more easier and just what you need when you are there to relax! The various outside lights with sensors make life much more easier too and the hot tub is fab! It was perfect, couldn't have asked for a better place or better host! Would visit again.

“superb accomodation”

Acorns is wonderful for a short break and has everything you need for your stay. The apartment has plenty of space, a large conservatory, fantastic kitchen and bathroom and the hot tub is just great for relaxing and taking in the surrounding garden. Joy the owner is very welcoming and provides all the information you need and also a wonderful breakfast hamper with milk and eggs and even a home baked loaf. This was our second visit to Joys properties and on both occasions the stay was brilliant .

“Immaculate accomodation”

When we arrived we were welcomed by Joy who gave us a tour of the property. The accommodation was beautifully presented and immaculately clean, with every home from home essential you could imagine. The attention to detail was second to none, which made the stay more enjoyable. This is one of the best short stays that we have had since exploring Dorset. Acorns is a wonderful place to stay with excellent facilities provided by hostess Joy who was so helpful from the moment we booked until we left.The Hot Tub recently installed was great to return to after long coastal walks to rest weary limbs and relax just bliss. Cannot wait to return!!!
