“Excellent base for exploring Lyme Regis” Had a lovely stay at Teal house with friends and family to celebrate wife’s birthday. House very clean and plenty of space. Would stay again. Ower Mark very helpful.
“This house is fantastic, beautiful decor, well located and to die for” I booked Springfield House for my husbands 50th Birthday celebration with a group of 14 family and friends. The webiste images looked good but were surpased by the house itself. Springfield somehow managed to be homely and wonderfully equiped and comfortable yet still be beautifully decorated, chic and fantatcically located. The car park was great for all the cars (room for 8 spaces) and the teenage kids and some of the 50 year old ones too loved the snooker and games rooms. The view from the windows accross the Jurassic Coast in the morning where breath taking and just a stroll out the side gate and you were either right next to the Mariners Hotel, where they serve a great steak, or a short wander down the hill to the town and the Cobb. On Saturday we all went to Hix Oyster and Fish House again a short 10 miniute walk and were not disappointed. We also decided to arrange a caterer for both Friday night and Sunday lunch as we were such a large group and The Lyme Bay Field Kitchen cannot be praised highly enough. Book this house if you don't, you will miss, what for us, was simply the best long weekend ever.
“Lyme is great, so is this place” We stayed for a week with a super-active 1 yr old: Mark the owner was good enough to get us a toddler gate for the stairs - he already had crib, high chair, plus all the things that make a family holiday easy - washer, dishwasher, well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms. The house is simply lovely - by way of some clever decoration and renovation it manages to be warm, light and airy and homelike but still to feel a centuy or two old (which I guess it is - we never worked that out- but 19th/18thC?). That is just right for the setting. We loved the garden - full of lavender and bees; we loved the location - short and pretty walk to everything. We had no trouble with the parking - we just brought the car down from the local car park to load and unload it when we needed it. It rained every single day we were in Lyme - the UK's great washout summer - but even this was okay -we had one warm afternoon lying on the beach, and a lot of lovely walks - on the cobb, fossiling and so on. The Lyme museum is superb, and there are some great places for food (try the croissants at the Coombe St bakery, and the ale and cheese from those shops within the Mill). We also took some drives to nearby attractions - eg. Abbotsbury (about 20 min) with its swannery and medieval tithe-barn turned adventure playground; Chesil beach (just extraordinary) and so on. Highly recommended - one of the best holidays we've had.
“Perfect location to get away from it all” We had a lovely stay and the location was excellent for exploring the nearby attractions of the Jurassic Coast. The property was very cosy and suited our needs down to the ground. Would highly recommend it if you wanted peace and quiet at the end of a busy day out and about!
