The Istanbul region
Throughout its long history, Istanbul has stood as a symbol of greatness, a confluence of peoples, languages, religions and continents. It is impossible to visit the city and not be moved by it; not only by the grandeur of its monuments and the unsurpassed beauty of its setting, but by its vibrancy and energy.
The former capital city of not one but three empires, Istanbul today is a lively and exciting city of 16 million people, built around the Bosphorus, one of the most majestic waterways in the world.
"As for the site of the city itself, it seems to have been created by nature for
the capital of the World "

Beyoglu and Cihangir in particular is Istanbul's most trendy and multicultural neighbourhood. European professionals, local TV stars and a intellectuals live and work in the here. Taxim Square, Istiklal Street, Galata Tower and the Bosporus are all less than 10min walking distance. While the area offers plenty of restaurants and entertainment options, the property is located in a very quite street.
Public transportations are also at a close reach from the apartment. The tram, a convenient, cheap and reliable way to get to historical sites, is at a short walking distance from the flat. The metro and buses are also within walking distance.

"Spacious apartment in the great location"
My family and I enjoyed staying in the Galata apartment. It had everything we needed and more: comfortable beds, large living room, combined with dining room, clean bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, and laundry. The hidden surprise was a rooftop patio with the 360 degree view, which we used for our breakfast a few times as well as for a night time relaxation with a glass of wine. The location of this apartment is great. Old town was only 20 min away, and Kabatas ferry (which we used to go to the Princess Islands) within 2 tram stops or only 15 min walk along the coast. There were a few nice markets near the building, and we can see the beginning of the Istikal street right outside of our window. Our host Kadir met us upon our arrival, gave us a tour of the flat and shared quick tips about the neighborhood and the transportation. Apartment also had maps and guides with the sightseeing information. Kadir also arranged our taxi from and to the airport. We had 5 adults and 2 small kids staying in the apartment and everyone had a wonderful time.
