Description

The Summerhouse is a spacious, self catering, semi detached chalet located on a peaceful, naturally landscaped holiday park in Brambles Chine, part of the Isle of Wight's area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated only 150 meters from the sea it provides spectacular views over the Solent, Colwell Bay and the Needles. Accommodating up to 4 adults and 1 small childl, it offers 2 bedrooms, bathroom with bath and power shower, comfortable lounge, dining area and well equipped kitchen. It is fully furnished and modern following a full refurbishment in 2015/16 and also has all the latest technology including Flat screen TV, DVD Player, Hi-Fi. WiFi is available for a small fee from the reception office. Externally the chalet boasts a south facing private patio with sea views and furniture, its own parking and plenty of well maintained grassed areas.

The Holiday Park has extensive facilities which include a small shop, launderette, crazy golf, 9 hole golf course, play park and football pitches. The sandy beach is only a 2 minute walk from the chalet which at low tide exposes its many rock pools. It also has cafe's, shops and boat hire along the beach.

The island offers an array of things to do including over 200 miles of cycling challenges, 500 miles of walkways, golf, fishing, horse riding, music festivals, 13 awarding winning beaches and much more.

Getting around

There are pamphlets, maps, books and current Isle of Wight magazines displayed in The Summerhouse so that you can consider where to go and what to do. If you choose to leave the car behind then walking, cycling or catching a bus could be a good way to explore the Island. There is a train service that runs from Ryde to Ventnor and a steam train that departs from Wootton if you are feeling nostalgic.

“Simply fantastic”

My family and I had a fantastic time at the Summerhouse, we have promised ourselves to stay again in the not too distant future. Freshly decorated and fully furnished to a high standard with a home from home feel. Wendy was friendly and super easy to deal with making the break stress free.

My 3 children and I spent a super week staying at The Summerhouse in the Easter holidays. It is beautifully decorated, really comfortable and has a well kitted out kitchen and board games basket. We were lucky enough to have almost a whole week of sunshine so were able to take advantage of the table and chairs on the patio outside, for some evening meals. Although it wasn't quite warm enough to enjoy the sun lounger I can imagine this is a lovely spot to relax in the sun during the summer! We loved being so close to the sea and it only took a few minutes to get down onto the beach (down steep rocky steps), where we enjoyed watching some beautiful sunsets. There is also loads of open space for children to play, a super brand new play area, football pitch, tennis net and mini crazy golf. The site is very clean and tidy and well maintained and it was very handy to be able to park your car right next to the chalet. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again if I returned to the island with my children. The booking experience was very good, quick response, easy to use and the owner kept in touch (via text) at booking, prior to arrival, and the day before departure.

The Summerhouse was outstanding in all area's. Firstly meeting Wendy who could'nt have done enough to help with our settling in. Then the area, a stone's throw from the sea, pleasant local beach and numerous eating places to choose from. Found that the fuel prices are 10p a litre cheaper at Asda and Morrisons, than all the other fuel stations, so worth hunting them out. Will def look to staying again, Thanks again Wendy. “Lovingly decorated, very comfortable house”

Freshwater is conveniently located near the Yarmouth ferry port. The chalet is on a complex of around 100 chalets but they are well spaced so it does not feel crowded. The chalet itself is very tastefully decorated in a seaside theme. The furniture and beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a beach just a couple of minutes walk away and many local attractions are nearby. Our only issue was poor to non-existent wi-fi connection. We were told that the site management is looking to improve this. The 4G connection was good.

The Summer House was just what we needed after a muddy weekend at a festival. We've been to numerous chalets at Bramble Chine and this was by far our best experience. Well located, equipped and furnished. Thank you for a lovely stay

“Freshwater IOW holiday”

The Summerhouse in Freshwater was comfy, clean and well equipped with a beautiful sea view. Had a lovely week exploring IOW and if weather had been better would have loved exploring the nearby beach. Our 3 year old granddaughter had a fantastic time and we would love to visit again.

“Clean comfortable with beautiful views.”

Wonderful chalet. Handy for beach and lovely walks. Ideal for a quieter peaceful holiday. The chalet is a good size for a family and the owner is very helpful. It is beautifully situated on the quieter side of the island. There is a shop on site which is great for basics. The local beach was perfect for looking for pebbles or paddling. Not too many local amenities although could walk to Colwell Bay. Needed to drive to get to places ie sight seeing or shopping. Overall a fantastic holiday. Thankyou.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
