Description

Find total peace and quiet in this beautiful location. Anstey Mills Cottage (Quality in Tourism: 4 star Gold) is one of two barn conversions at the end of a single lane on a non-working farm. East Liscombe has been in the family for over 60 years and Doris is running the holiday cottage since 1998. Quality in Tourism has repeatedly awarded the cottage the 4 star Gold rating, highlighting the quality of the accommodation, its features and cleanliness.Three large bedrooms with quality bed linen and feather duvets easily accommodate 6 + 1, the large farmhouse table is focal point in the spacious kitchen, in the living room it is the wood burner. This is the ideal place for families but still feel cosy for just two. Walkers and dogs are regular visitors, as we are on a bridle way which goes right along the Devon Longhouse of which the host inhabits the other half, thus being on site to help and advise if this is wished. The cottage has a large private garden and 3 parking spaces outside

This allows access to miles of beautiful landscapes equidistant to both coasts. Historic towns and villages attract with wonderful pubs and shops. Gardens and family attractions are found in abundance. There is so much to see, you might want to come again and again....

Location description from owner

The England region

On the Devon/Somerset border just on the edge of Exmoor National Park, East Liscombe Farm is ideally situated to explore a large area of the fabulous West Country. We are between two coasts - equaldistant to Exeter ( with Exmouth, Sidmouth and Branscombe as favourite South Coast spots) or Barnstaple (with the vast sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton and and the spectacular Exmoor cliffs - the highest in England - as North Coast targets).

Dulverton

Right on the door is the fantastic landscape of the Moor, inviting you to walk or cycle (Sustrans Cycle route No 3 passes our land on its way to Land's End) or explore on horse back. It is home to England's largest wild animal, the Red Deer and the Exmoor Pony – you can't miss them when our and about . My favourite places are Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon, Snowdrop Valley and Selworthy. The small market town Dulverton, only 4 miles down the road, is a gem for tourists, as you find award winning pubs, tea rooms and restaurants of the highest quality, as well as a variety of shops from clothes, gifts to antiques. Lately is has been in the news as the town which switched all the lights off to celebrate Exmoor being the first Dark Sky Reserve in Europe.Sit outside your door at Anstey Mills Cottages on a moon and cloudless night and you will not believe the vast amount of stars visible.
