Description

Peaceful rural farm setting in open countryside with views of the sea on the horizon. A handy base providing easy access to both Coast & Country and for visiting nearby attractions such as Bamburgh Castle, Budle Bay, Holy Island & Chillingham Castle. A quiet cottage on one level offering sleeping space for up to 4 people. The cottage provides a cosy living room with television and a wood burning stove (fuel for which is provided) and a separate fully equipped kitchen. One of the bedrooms has a king sized bed with television and the other has two single beds. There is one bathroom providing both a bath and shower. The cottage has recently been refurbished yet has retained some of its traditional features making this a cosy but characterful place to feel at home during your stay. There is private parking with space for two cars. The cottage has a large enclosed garden with a patio area and garden furniture. All linen and towels are provided along with a welcome pack upon your arrival. There is written information on things to do around the local area included within the cottage. For keen cyclists, The Sandstone Way is easily accessible and for walkers, the Cheviot Hills are near by.

“Lovely Cottage”

This is an extremely comfortable cottage, we have had a lovely week here. You do need a car to get about as it is a few miles from Bamburgh and Seahouses in the beautiful quiet countryside. We did eat out most days and would recommend the White Swan in Warenford and The Castle in Bamburgh the food there was outstanding. All in all a great place to stay and visit and we will hopefully make a return visit.

Shearling Cottage in its rural location is ideal for a relaxing holiday break. It is nestled in Northumberland and is close to a variety of famous landmarks. During our short stay we walked along the beach from Bamburgh to Budle Bay, and we also visited Holy Island with its famous Lindisfarne Priory and Castle. There were so many other places we could have explored but we didn't have time. The cottage itself was so warm and inviting after a day out and had everything to make our stay a lovely experience. The welcome pack of cookies, eggs and a bottle of wine was a lovely touch. A great place to take your dog on holiday as the cottage is dog friendly and there are lots of pubs, etc that allow dogs in. Definitely would go back again.
