Location description from owner

The Scotland region

The West Coast of Scotland is an area of spectacular natural beauty. From the Granary, Mull, Iona and Loch Ness are all an easy day trip. On the journey from Glasgow you travel through Loch Lomond national park, through the Highlands, past Loch Awe and the dramatic Falls of Lora. From the Oban ferryport most of the Western Isles of Scotland are easily visited, there are also many excursions, including the annual visit of the last ocean-going paddlesteamer, SS Waverley.

Balvicar

Oban is renowned for its seafood restaurants and seaside promenade. Also well supplied with supermarkets and all essentials. The Island of Seil has two pubs, which both serve food in season. It's a great area to explore. You can also take the short ferry ride to the neighbouring islands of Luing and Easdale, famous for its history of slate mining.
