“Amazing!”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2017

Had an absolutely fantastic time in this lovely house. There were 13 of us celebrating 21st, 50th and 80th birthdays and what an ideal place to do it. Plenty of room for us all and everything we needed to celebrate in style. Loved the huge conservatory where we could all eat together at the same time. The house had lots of quirky original features and fantastic views across the bay. We even bossed the aga! If you are looking for a large house for a family get together then this is it! Would not hesitate to recommend it and would definitely go back. Thank you Helen and Eric for letting us share your lovely house!

Owner's reply: Hi Jill, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review . It means a lot to us to get feedback from our guests. So glad you all enjoyed it.You are welcome back anytime ! Kind regards, Helen and Eric

“Impressive Georgian House”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2014

Spacious house with great views paricularly from the warm conservatory. 3 bedrooms comfy, 2 others not so but a couple Kingsize comfy beds would address this and be consistent with the style and size of the property. Fantastic fun cooking with the Arga but kitchen starting to feel a bit dated though a very sociable kitchen diner. I some ways kitchen over equipped and would benefit from some thinning out. Great having bike shed and log store. Plethor of TV's but would have prefered one really good large one. Bathrooms and shower rooms all fine but in particular downstairs one as really well convertrted room. Would certainly go back if could mobilse a big group again.

“A lovely house, perfect for a large family group, superb location.”

We had a lovely family holiday in this beautiful house. We were able to visit many local attractions including the zoo, farm, aquarium and a ride on a steam train. In the evening the children were very happy to play in the large garden. Helen and Eric were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very much at home. All the bedrooms were large and it was hard to choose which was the nicest. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Owner's reply: Hi Sheila, Thank you so much for your kind words,it means so much to us when we get feedback from our Holidaymakers. We hope to see you all again in not too distant future. Kindest regards, Eric and Helen

“A holiday to remember”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

We stayed with our large family group .We have a holiday together every year and this year it was our first visit to the area. The accommodation was just what we wanted so comfortable, spacious and everything we needed was there to make our holiday enoyable. We made good use of the barbeque and sitting on the terrace enjoying our evening drinks was very special. The Aga was also a boon breakfasts were more appetising when cooked on it.The house had a lovely atmosphere and it was a pleasure to live there even just for the week that we had booked. There were so many places to visit nearby or far away whichever you wanted to do.We will return and we would like to thank Eric and Helen for there hospitality and also for their unobtrusiveness during our stay. Also to the little boy who lived next door Leo and his sister who came to play with the grandchildren .All in all a thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all.Thankyou once again.

Owner's reply: Hello Linda, Just read your review and thought would drop you a quick line to say thank you for taking the time to do so.It is always very rewarding to Helen and I to get such good feedback. Hope to welcome you all back soon, Best regards, Eric and Helen

“Wonderful property with period features and large spacious rooms.”

We had a wonderful stay at Bankfield. There were 8 adults and 4 children and each and everyone of us enjoyed the lovely spacious house, especially the teenagers who appreciated the many rooms where they could hide as well as the free wifi access. The house was better than we hoped and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated. We enjoyed using the real fire in the roomy conservatory when it was chilly and managed a few evenings in the garden when it was sunny. We cannot fault our stay and would gladly return. Thank you very much Helen and Eric for your hospitality.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind words, they are really appreciated, and hopefully we will be able to welcome you all back to our very special house, until then all health and happiness to you all,, Best regards, Eric and Helen

“Even better than I had hoped...”

We spent a wonderful February week at Bankfield House with my family, husband, self, twin five year olds and a whole heap of friends who variously joined us over the week for 40th birthday celebrations. It was the most perfect house for such festivities. Everyone loved it. The house was super for young children who happily amused themselves in the garden, using the toys available outside in the outhouse. (The children have also become hooked on Monopoly since the stay). The kitchen was really well stocked with all imaginable cookware. The availability of towels and bedding - ideal for many house guests over the week - was second to none. Helen and Eric gave us a warm welcome from the very first email right through our stay and they are super holiday house owners being both relaxed and very thoughtful about guests' needs. I can't say how excited I was when I found this house on the website because I knew it was exactly what I was looking for - slightly quirky, very homely and with stunning, uplifting views. The house has an amazing friendly feeling to it and it is even lovelier than the website suggests. Thank you Eric and Helen. We really want to get back!

Owner's reply: Thank you for very kind words it means a lot to Helen and I to get such wonderful feedback from our Holidaymakers,we loved having you all stay with us and please come back whenever you can,you know there is a warm welcome awaiting you all

“A spacious and homely house with great views!”

We would highly recommend a stay at Bankfield House. It is a warm, comfortable house that offers superb value for money. The owners, Helen and Eric, are very friendly and welcoming. They spent time making sure we had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The house is extremely spacious, but it retains a very homely feel. It is easy to get some peace and quiet, even with a large group staying together. The kitchen is very well equipped and always really warm thanks to the aga and the conservatory is a great place to relax and get together for meals. All the bedrooms are comfortably furnished and there are lovely views towards the coast. Bankfield House is easily accesible from the M6 and has lots of beautiful places to visit nearby- we visited Cartmel and Hawkshead. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thanks again to Helen nd Eric.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind words, they are really valued by us and appreciate them very much.Hope to see you all again at Bankfield , Best regards, Eric and Helen
