“Perfect start to Christmas”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2019

We returned to Bankfield house for the weekend after having such a great experience last year. There were 16 of us in total ranging from aged 4 to 89 (and a border collie) and we all fit in comfortably! The house is perfect for the children to run around and explore whilst the adults could relax in the living rooms. The house was nicely decorated with Christmas trees and was so warm and cozy! We went to ulverston on Saturday and to Holker Hall on Sunday whereas last year we went to cartmel and grange over sands, the house is in perfect location! Thank you for helping us to create memories that will last a lifetime!

“A beautiful, spacious house, equipped with everything you could need!!!!! Loved it!!!”

Reviewed 7 May 2019

We hired the house for a family get together as a present for our mum. There were 6 adults and 6 children (all aged 8 or under). Other places we have stayed at have only ever supplied the minimal of items, yet we were so surprised to see there was pretty much everything you could need, from salt, sauces, tea towels, toilet rolls, tea, coffee etc. The garden was spacious allowing for a great game of football with the children and the house was so spacious inside. Even with 12 of us, there was plenty of space. We have only been back a day and are planning on booking it again for the same dates next year and then hopefully every year after that!

Owner's reply: Hi Jenny, Thank you for posting such a lovely review. It is always good to get feedback from our guests...it lets us know we are getting things right! It would be great to welcome you all back to Bankfield House and help you create some more family memories. Best regards Helen and Eric

Owner's reply: Hello Peter, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We do however wish to address your comments regarding the kitchen.During the eight years we have been running the holiday let we have never had any similar comments. In fact you hold the record for the lowest star rating we have received. We do like getting constructive comments from our guests which we find very helpful...ie cupboards all tidied up and sorted ! Just so we can understand when you say kitchen not able to prepare meal for 12 people...we have a full sizes Aga,a double electric oven and a 4 ring hob (which is just over 3 years old) and think,as all the other many families who have visited with bigger parties to be more than adequate.Hope you find this reply useful and please do not hesitate to get in touch in case we are misreading your comments. Best regards Helen and Eric
