“Excellent comfortable base” This was the most comfortable, well appointed chalet we've rented. The views from the lounge were spectacular. The cottage was well located for touring along the south west coast to St Davids and above and also eastwards through Tenby; Saundersfoot to the Gower (80 miles away). The garden area could have been tidier, but it had great views of the estuary and was enclosed to allow safe pet access.
“Wow factor in Wales” My family of 5 and friends (4 of them) had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The house is new and was beautifully appointed, set in a lovely garden.
We never felt cramped and there was ample comfort all round with the central dining area and kitchen/conservatory lovely features.
The upstairs had decent bedrooms with one special befroom with large en-suite. Unfortunately my wife and I lost the toss for that room but no hard feelings (really).
There were all the facilities we could have wanted and even got the wi-fi working after a while!
The owners were very friendly and attentive who obviously take great pride in this house which they live in when not let.
The beaches in the area were spectacular but we found little else of great interest to be frank.
Overall, a great stay.
A stunning house & more than stunning view of the water front, suitable for every age.
A stunning house & even more stunning view! Our family holiday was perfect in every way. The house catered for all ages so everyone was kept very happy. We had a murder mystery dinner with all of us in fancy dress & sat around the long palatial dinner table over a 3 course meal while we acted out our little play ...& laughed a lot! The childrens play room & cinema room were a great addition for the quiet times when needed. The tennis was enjoyed by all of us keeping our energy levels high! The pool is outrageously wonderful & the view with the music was the cream on the cake ...a big thumbs up from our grandchildren & adults who just soaked up the relaxing atmosphere. The dock & beach were a hit as we all looked for treasures at low tide & crab fished from the dock at high tide. Thank you so much for the opportunity to share your lovely home. …
We booked Four Ashes for a week with our grown up kids and their partners making six of us in all. The idea was to walk the Pembroke coast but that soon went west. With all the facilities the house had to offer we found ourselves barely crossing the doors. The panoramic views and easy way the house has about it blended to make relaxation easy and the week passed in a heartbeat.
When we looked this up with a view to booking, one review said that the decor is a little dated but we just thought it made for wholesome comfort and a kind of homeliness you can sink into straight away.
More than enough space for people to do their own thing yet sufficient areas to gather and be a family on vacation. Local food shopping is very handy .... needs to be as Four Ashes has an AGA and although it was constantly on, it was constantly on if you get my meaning?
Emma Burgess (the owner) is a delight to deal with and the whole booking experience was a breeze.
If there was a downside, the people before us could have been more considerate with their dog management? We spent a little time clearing up before we could let our dogs out. No fault of the owners, just a less than careful renter?
We have booked up again for 2017 as we all think the experience was a blast ... didn't want to come home when the time came but looking forward to next year.
All in all .... terrific!! …
