“Magical Retreat into Paradise” I took some friends to stay at this Magical cottage so we could get some cycling practice for a charity cycle ride we were doing at the end of the year. The accommodation was ample for our needs, with plenty of space to prepare before and relax after our days in the saddle. During the stay we had torrential rain, windy and sunny days and an amazing full moon on a wind tossed night, which we watched through the huge picture windows that allow you to feel fully part of this wild landscape whilst keeping you cosy and safe at the same time. The cottage is so well appointed and we were so comfortable there that we forgot it wasn't actually our home! My friends are as much in love with this corner of Pembrokeshire as I am now and we can't wait to get back for another stay soon.

“Landscape, history, nature life, first class housing inteh same package” I have spent many marvelous weeks in the Old Rectory over 3 decades. The charm of the house, the views of nearby coastal and mountain wilderness and also the small town of Newport have not changed. When hiking on the nountains and in valleys the welsh stories and fairy tales start to live. There are so many interesting Celtic and ancient monuments like the stone circles and dolmens. This old Newport town is nicely located below the old castle. The atmosphere is the same as a hundred years ago. Also you can meet real characters there. I remember a lovely shopkeeper, who was wearing shorts every single the day of the year, if it was rain or cold, with only one exception: Christmas. Then the man was wearing long trousers. The scenery is breathtaking beautiful in all directions and you can enjoy it also through any windows from the house. The wild life around the Rectory as well on the mountains and seashore is an amazing experience. For a bird watcher it is paradise. There are so many different kinds of birds like owls and hawks even in the garden there. There were buffins, seagulls and guillemonts following our boat when we went to Skomer Island. If you are lucky, you also can see seals and their pups on the beaches. For an explorer hiking around the Pembrokeshire coast, a shorter or longer trip will offer unforgettable memories. Step by step you can see different views when walking down to the sea. I loved taking different friends there and exploring many beaches, pubs ans swimming in the sea. I can recommend all these experiences. I have valuable memories of The Old Rectory that have made my life richer and those will never be forgotten.

I wish I owned this house!

So lucky to drop on a vacant week, and as weather was so good and house vacant stayed for nearly two weeks. Love Newport, used to live near Newquay. Not a lot to say that hasn’t already been said in other reviews, exceptional position. And thank you Charlie for allowing four mutts to stay also. May book in September and take my mother.see more

Hafan Dawel bungalow, Parrog, Newport, Pembs, SA420RW
A well-equipped and very spacious bungalow in an attractive location

In October we were a little unfortunate with the weather, so didn't get around the area as much as we had anticipated. Nevertheless, Hafan Dawel bungalow provided a warm and very comfortable retreat in a friendly area with everything we needed within easy walking distance - although plentiful car parking was available near the local shops when needed. 'Out of Season' the main attractions were the glorious local views and vast sandy beaches - which were ideal for dog owners!see more
Castle Reach
Beautiful cottage, perfect for the whole family!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Castle Reach. Steve and Nat were quick to respond to our emails and answered all our queries. The cottage itself was lovely, clean and spacious. Really close to the high street & beach. The garden was beautifully maintained and we loved sitting outside watching the sunset!see more

A welcoming and comfortable cottage

We had a great stay in this lovely period cottage. The house was very clean and has everything you need including WIFI (much to the relief of our daughter!) and the bottle of wine chilling in the fridge was a lovely, welcoming touch. The beds are comfy, there's freeview TV if you need it, the small yard at the back is a sun trap to sit and sip a glass or two or have a coffee. The village has a few shops and plenty of places to eat. The Castle Inn was our favourite as it has lots if gluten free options on the menu. In addition to the harbour and beaches (both of which are a good walk/drive to), there's lots to see and do in the local area (we really enjoyed the Shire Horse farm) and it's a great location for walkers. I would certainly stay here again if returning to the area.see more
Seaborne House
Holiday break with family & friends

Stayed at Seabourne House in Newport, Pembrokeshire a lovely house plenty of space an facilities which includes good outdoor space, hot tub and large bbq, the bifold doors open up the dining/kitchen area to let the garden in. The village is lovely with plenty of places to eat from tapas to fine dining, we recommend The Golden Lion for food service and price, The Royal Oak for a relaxing pub atmosphere and service and very nice curries at a very good price also has a pool table, The Castle has good food an service but if going for 'Bar Meal' we feel a little expensive. Llyds Meddygs lovely set up but very disappointed with service, on arriving we had 9 people and was given a table that would only seat 6/7, we asked to move an was but before we moved the manager? told us the table was big enough, sorry I've been to plenty of restaurants and I've always been asked if the table is ok for you on arrival. The food was good but felt rushed as they obviously wanted to close and it was very expensive, on paying we where looking at the bill an sorting payment when the 'manager'? Was stood behind my husband with the card machine waiting very rude, not good. That said the village is lovely and spoke to several local people who was extremely friendly, the location is perfect to tour round the Pembrokeshire area and different beaches, our favourite is Whitesands beach good surf, facilities, Newport beach good to an in walking distance from the accommodation, but we found Saundersfoot a little over rated. Go off road instead of the main roads and you see more of the beautiful Pembrokeshire scenery you can see for miles, love the area and Newport village we will return.see more
