    New Galloway holiday watermill rental

“Batteries fully charged” After a week in the Hidden Mill with peace and quiet, no traffic noise and the slow pace of country life. This is our second trip to this quirky Mill which we enjoyed just as much as the first. The dog friendly place is an ide

Holiday cottage in St Johns Town of Dalry

     (4)Very Good

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.” Set in an isolated beautiful location this cottage commands very scenic views over the loch at the front of the property. The loch can be seen whilst dining, sitting in the living room or from either bedroom.T

    We couldn't have chosen better.

There were ten of us in total - and we don't always get the opportunity to get together and spend quality time with each other, so our stay at the watermill was completely brilliant. The house is really perfect: it's a great size and the balance between having everything you need and nothing that's too fussy is spot on. There's a lovely wee outdoor space at the back of the house by the stream where you can put the world to rights and the old gorgeous features of the mill were great. The house is in a cracking location with really beautiful surroundings, perfect for stretching the old pins. Lorraine is an absolute gem as well. So friendly and welcoming. We will absolutely be back if she'll have us! see more
Beautiful loch side setting with private fishing
    Superbly peaceful

We stayed at Lochivar to deliberately have peace and quiet for a week-long break from busy lives. Perfect! The location, close to Dalry, is central to all of the south and south-west and was ideal for us. We spent a day in each of Kircudbright and Stranraer, and visited as wide-spread as Drumlanrig, Caerlaverock, and Glenluce. We attended an open-air performance of 'Midsummer Night's Dream' at Castle Kennedy and ate well twice at The Clachan in Dalry. Lochinvar Cottage is well equipped, very clean and comfortable. One minor and one quite major suggestion for the owner: a stash of lightbulbs is always a good idea, and the teflon-coated pots and pans are not a good match with the stainless steel cooking utensils; they are now well beyond the time when they should have been replaced. As a note to future guests, Wifi is a problem and is rarely available. BT is the issue and not the owner's high-quality router. see more
