“Excellent apartment, immaculate, only minutes walk to city centre attractions.” This apartment is immaculate. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Hosts Chris and Wendy welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Situated beautifully directly on the riverbank with balcony overlooking the river. Only a couple of minutes walk and you in the city centre. Thoroughly recommended.
“Perfect centrally located apartment” Clements Wharf is centrally located, close to the centre of Durham and all it has to offer. The apartment is very well presented, cosy and very clean.
We arrived on the day around 11am, quite a few hours before normal check in time, but the managers had been very helpful in arranging for us to drop off our luggage and collect the keys, so that we could get on with enjoying our stay. We came to enjoy the Christmas Markets and can recommend a visit to the Cathedral, the food market held in the Cloisters was fantastic with lots of interesting festive goodies to choose from.
I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment to anyone who was intending visiting Durham.

Top Durham Travel Tips
Because of the congestion in the city centre, and the lack of parking options, a car is not the best way to get around. Public transport is pretty good, so why not leave the car at one of the city's Park and Ride stations and get the bus in to town?

We were welcomed to the apartment by Chris who showed us round and explained how everything worked and pointed us in the right direction to local restaurants and places of interest, which was very welcome as we had never visited Durham before. The apartment was fitted to a very high standard, with quality furniture and fixtures. Situated overlooking the river with views across to the cathedral and a short stroll into town, this was an ideal location for a short break. On arrival we were treated to a very nice welcome hamper, a very thoughtful touch. Without hesitation we would recommend this apartment. …

St Cuthbert's cottage Seaham.
Sea Glass Holiday
St Cuthbert Cottage is s perfect place to stay. It has s story book setting with a beautiful stream in the back, bunnies in the garden and birds chirping in the trees. I felt like I should be writing a Novel it was so beautiful and peaceful. The kitchen meet all my needs. I arrived on a snowy evening to a warm cottage from a fire in the fireplace made by the kindest host, Mick, prior to my arrival. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot. The walk from the cottage to Seaham Harbor is a beautiful 40 minute walk. Very picturesque. A taxi is readily available to any point in Seaham for £3 one way as long as you plan ahead and avoid the school run hours. I stayed alone in the cottage, but it would be very comfortable for a family of 4. Mick arranged for me to have a warm stone massage at the cottage by Carole who did a great job and was very affordable. I would definitely stay at St Cuthbert’s Cottage again. …
Willington Hall Cottage
Convenient for Durham University
Just home from a long weekend at Willington Hall Cottage. This is truly the cleanest, most spacious and best equipped self-catering accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. I wish we could have stayed for a week.
We were visiting my son who’s nearby at Durham university. Durham of course is beautiful but you must also fit in a visit to hand feed the deer at Whitworth Hall which is only a few minutes from the cottage.
The owners next door are very welcoming and friendly and will help you out with anything you need to make your stay better - although I can’t think of anything you would need which isn’t already there. …

Bracken Hill Farm Cottage nr Bishop Auckland Durham
Absolutely Perfect Place to Stay
A very warm welcome on arrival by Ang. It was obvious from the start that we would thoroughly enjoy our stay. The cottage is ideally placed so you have privacy but not isolated. Although we didn’t need to bother Ang for anything it was very clear that nothing would be too much trouble. The fridge was stocked with fresh eggs, milk and lovely local cheese. Fresh bread and biscuits as well as dog treats was a lovely surprise. The cottage was spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated. I could live there quite easily and comfortablely! The underfloor heating and not forgetting the superb log burner were taken full advantage of! We absolutely loved the place. And so did our dog! With a private and very secure garden overlooking a field with sheep. Just really added to the already stunning feel of the place. I’ve stayed in quite a few lodges/cottages but this place really does stand out from the rest. Although the pictures on here are lovely, you really do need to stay here to really appreciate how gorgeous this place is.
I now have to buy some of the smellies (smelled gorgeous) that are in the spa-like bathrooms! It really was like a spa experience under the waterfall shower!
Thank you Ang. A very welcome retreat indeed. I’m sure we will be back! That’s if you’ll have us again! …
