Description

Cosy holiday cottage in Sherburn Village three miles form Durham City, about 10 minutes in the car or 15 on the bus. An ideal base for exploring Durham City and the North East of England. Ideal for a holiday or as an alternative to a hotel while working away on business.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need during your stay.

Situated in a quite courtyard at the rear of Weardale House in the middle of the village, with use of a large private garden. The garden has a summer house for your use and outdoor patio area with furniture.

A supermarket, post office, newsagents and two pubs are within five minutes walk and the village has a good bus service.

Dove Cottage is perfect for walkers and cyclist providing secure storage for cycles and space to dry outdoor clothing.

Getting around

Good bus service with buses every 20 mins into Durham City. Buses from Durham City to Newcastle, Sunderland, Beamish, MetroCentre, and many other local towns and villages. Regular trains from Durham Station to Newcastle, 12 mins, Darlington 15 mins, York, 55 mins. Easy access to the A1M and good road network in the north east.

Dove Cottage is a self contained cottage in our large garden so you will see us around but we try to not to intrude on your stay, so you may see us tending the garden or around in the village, but if you are enjoying the summer house of relaxing in the garden we will respect your privacy and leave you in peace to enjoy the views.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
