Sunnybank
Exceptionally located house for golf and beach and very comfortably furnished

In autumn and winter ask for the storage heaters to be switched on the night before arrival. The beach is very accessible for lovely long walks especially to Embo. … see more

Couldn't have pick a better house in a stunning setting

This was a spacious and beautifully appointed house. Ideal for a large family group or a large group of friends. A great place for a birthday celebration. The facilities are great for field sports and the staff and management are extremely friendly and helpful. You could ask for a better holiday location.see more
Dornoch Firth luxury Caravan The Robertson's Roost Tain
Fantastic Holiday Home - home from home

After our 9 hour car journey from Milton Keynes, feeling tired to be greeted by this luxury caravan with all mod cons was fantastic. Always not sure if what's on the booking site is what we will find but it was better. The holiday home was immaculate, beds comfy and to have 2 bathrooms each with 2 showers which was great for the four of us. Large TV in lounge and then a bonus tv in master bedroom so kids could watch what they wanted. Karen (the owner) was there when we arrived and we were not expecting to be able to get in until 3pm but jhave a walk around the site and get our bearing but she showed us around, and is a lovely friendly lady. Site has a new laundry block which we used. Wifi is expensive but very kind lady in reception gave my 2 teenage children their log in so the kids used that and not a problem at all. We traveled to John o Groats, Loch Ness fell in love with the beach at Golspie. Chip shop there brilliant best chips ever! Lots of forests walks including Shin Falls and Rougie Falls where each time we watched salmon jumping up stream brilliant. We shopped in Tesco just down the road but there is an Asda Morissons and Lidal all near by. If wanting to go Dolphin/Seal/Whale watching we set off for a day at the Dolphin centre half way to Aberdeen Spey Bay not one dolphin or whale to be seen and a 2hour journey there and back!!!! Karen then told us of a place just on the point of Black Isle by the lighthouse where dolphins come most evenings. We didn't get to see any waited over an hour with other people but just unluckily as everyone waiting with us said they are always there!! Just not that night but did see grey seals popping their heads out. We will return another time to this holiday home. It is an excellent location for the Highlands. Tain nearest village along can be walked to but a very busy road and no paths. Here you can find bakers, butchers and other shops along with Tesco. Dornoch next village over the Dornoch Firth bridge has restaurants, lovely gift shop in the old jail and a good beach with lovely sand and stretches for miles. We were there July/August and not rammed like it would be in Cornwall. Another surprise was no charge for parking in the towns/villages or beaches. Free parking which is great. Only place we did was Fort Augustus which is really touristy and is at the point of Loch Ness where the boats and quite large yachts use the locks there. It is a must visit to watch them and have an ice cream or picnic on the side of the locks. We did over the course of the 10 nights we stayed did about 6 lovely forest walks. Some a journey away from the holiday home but others near by looking over Tain and the pulpit rock. Views are breath taking. The one at Aldie Burn is a breeding site for the capercaillie but didn't get to see them. Another thing I would recommend is Karen, the owner has a farm for children and also on this site a farm shop. Here you can find lots of Scottish food to buy, Hampers made up. Items like chutneys, biscuits, wild boar pate, and many more. (She has a sample hamper in the caravan of bits she stocks which you can buy and leave money in a bag). We popped in to buy a hamper from her and we met Heather the beautiful highland cow and Katie Morag the calf and not forgetting Barney the lovely retriever dog. This is found in Beauly another lovely village. Looking back the journey of 9 hours at the time seemed mad but it was so worth it. Would so recommend.see more
