Delivered peace

Peace and quiet away from it all is what i wanted and what i got. Cottage was lovely and neighbours very friendly. Only thing that could have made it 5 stars was a wee welcome pack on arrival, usually find these nice touch. … see more
Lodge Cottage
Peaceful haven

Lovely lodge set in very peaceful surroundings on a farm. Made to feel very welcome with no endless list of rules. Great for kids (6 & 8) with play equipment opposite door to lodge. Felt very safe. Dogs also made welcome. Would definitely go back. Lodge is modern and comfortable. Heating needed supplementing with electric radiators on colder evenings. Electric is via coin operated (£1) box but was quite reasonable. Probably spent about £10 all week. Washer/dryer was useful. Need to take all cleaning products etc (washing up liquid was provided). Plenty of space throughout lodge, including kitchen. Was clean and tidy. Bathroom has standard shower cubicle. Suggest taking towel to stand on or bath mat (ended up using dog towel). Kitchen well equipped. TV had DVD player incorporated and CD player/radio available. Phone signal very intermittent and had no internet all week (heaven). Allowed us to just chill out. Lovely walks locally and Gem Rock Museum is worth a visit (10 minutes away). Track to farm is unmade and quite bumpy in places. Beware low cars like ours! Just had to drive really slowly and carefully. One major plus is that it's REALLY dark at night. The sky on a clear night is absolutely amazing. It's a fabulous place for getting away from it all without having to rough it. Can't recommend highly enough.see more
