“Superb `tres chic` holiday apartment” Everything at 268 was absolutely perfect. The location in Batheaston is just a ten minute drive from the centre of Bath with its excellent historic buldings, great shopping and zillions of restaraunts....yet the apartment is in such a lovely and quiet location. The property is the downstairs floor of a two storey cottage, which has its own parking space and decked area complete with table and chairs and views, and surrounded by some lovely herbage so its also quite private.
It is also just a 100m stroll from the River Avon where you can take a circular walk down by the river and the many swans and ducks, to the weir and toll bridge and have a drink and a lovely meal (which we did!) in the Bathampton Mill bar and restaraunt. Lovely place.
We met the wonderful and friendly owners Andrew and Karen on the day we arrived and they gave us a very warm welcome and explained everything about the apartment to us. A lovely couple.
The apartment itself is very modern and quite luxurious. Every inch of space in this old but lovingly restored property has been perfectly utilised by the owners, who designed and remodelled this apartment themselves.
The main living area is a mix of lounge, dining and kitchen and is a perfect and very easy to use space. The whole apartment has underfloor heating with a lovely tiled floor with each room individually controlled. So it is really perfect for all seasons!
The Kingsize Double bed was one of the most comfortable beds that we have ever slept in! There was also tons of hanging space for all our luggage (which was plenty) as we were en route to our Daughters wedding! The bathroom is compact yet perfectly designed like the rest of the apartment and has a great wet room shower.
Our stay at 268 was perfect. It matched everything we needed for our time in the area and we would certainly stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to our family and friends.
“Excellent cottage - a real home from home” The cottage was excellent, everything you could ask for to make your stay comfortable & relaxing. The welcome pack was a very nice touch & the comprehensive "making the most of your stay" information very helpful. It really is the perfect base for exploring Bath without having to worry about driving - the bus stop is right outside & the buses are frequent.
“Fab house, brilliant location, great holiday!” We stayed at The Old Workshop for 3 nights. The accommodation is wonderful and all of the essentials were provided. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated and are comfortable and cosy.
The Old Workshop is in a great location, just a short walk to the shops/pubs/takeaway in Batheaston and a short bus/car journey into the centre of Bath.
Jane and John couldn't have been more helpful and ensured that arranging our stay was a smooth process - thanks very much!
We certainly couldn't find anything to complain about and very much hope to stay here again - would reccommend The Old Workshop to anyone.
“Excellent spacious property with good all round facilities” On arrival the property exceeded our expectations. Deborah was there to greet us and showed us around. The rooms were spacious, clean and plenty of bathrooms, which was helpful as my son and his small children were staying with us. The kitchen was great and so well fitted and ideal for us with the young family as we could watch the children whilst in the kitchen or lounge. To have a large utility room was also a bonus as we could use it for storage. The study was perfect as we could set up our computer and Check our business emails and shut the door knowing the children would not get in!!!! We did not use the garden much but the bbq area was so nice with the little outdoor room and you could imagine it on a balmy summer night drinking champagne!! The buses and taxis to Bath centre were efficient and regular. Batheaston although small had everything we needed for the stay, a cafe, papershop, small well stocked local convenient store and a fish and chip shop where the fish portions were enormous! A lovely week where we saw all our children, some living locally, in one place in a lovely house. If we have the opportunity we would be back even if we were on our own and had one of the smaller properties on the site. Thank you . Jackie and Bernard Gill
“Everything we need” We are so thrilled with this rental, all we need was there and much comfort. We hope to come again as we have friends in Lower Shockerwick who have a small house and this location is excellent for us in Batheaston.
We were a party of 3 ladies who were visiting Bath to celebrate a special birthday. When I found this accommodation I had high hopes due to other reviews and we were not disappointed. The Old Workshop was lovely. It is in an ideal setting where we were able to walk into Bath although the bus stop was right outside. The finish in the accommodation was of a really high standard. The welcome pack was amazing and we really enjoyed the fresh bread and wine ! Everything was there that you could want and the kitchen had everything and more. Deborah answered our few questions really quickly and we must give a mention to Nigel the taxi driver who was great and really helpful giving us pointers of which pubs we may like. Bath was great as the Christmas Market had just started we also visited the Thearme Spa and Sotto Sotto. We had a great time and did not want to leave. We will be back. …
The Coach House, Bath. 2 bed cottage with stunning views and private parking
Over the moon with Deborah Vintage Cream Tea and the table Christmas decoration worth every penny.
The Accommodation was excellent and the beds were bliss after a day of shopping in Bath. The view of the Bathampton Meadows from the dining table is fantastic even if the weather was grey and foggy.
This has to be the first holiday that I've not used the car but the bus. The buses are ever so reliable giving me a chance to have a couple sneaky glasses of wine.
I did get a chance to visit The Fat Friar and the fish and chips were just lovely.
Bath is highly recommended during Christmas with its lights and if the weather is seasonal.
Many thanks for the welcome pack. …
268 Perfect for 2 - One double bedroom apartment.
What a superb apartment!
This has to be the nicest holiday apartment ever. Beautifully built and laid out and extremely comfortable and cozy. It is clean and bright and a pleasure to live in. Batheaston is an ideal spot to centre your discovery of the West Country with Bath itself just 10 minutes away and Salisbury, Marlborough, Gloucester within easy reach you are ideally placed. Going to Bath? Leave the car and take the bus. Every 15 minutes and in 10 minutes you are at Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and Georgian Bath - and - no parking problems. Owners Andrew and Karen are charming and very helpful. We were delayed arriving and a quick call to Andrew kept them in the picture. All in all we enjoyed our two weeks at 268 and if we have the chance we won't hesitate to go back. …
The Malthouse No 4
Malt House 4
Good location for exploring Bath and environs. Safe secure parking off road. Had issues entering property as hadn't received key codes for gates and key safe. No one there to greet us. Facilities good although main bathroom shower was not holding position correctly and screen on bath needs extending. Overall a good venue. …
The Old Sweet Shop, 3 bed 16th century cottage, Batheaston, Bath
Great place to stay when visiting Bath
We had a great time staying here. The old sweet shop is a wonderfully individual house with a nice garden.
Lovely touches, like bread, milk and wine from the owners.
Would be happy to recommend it …
We had a lovely time at Mulsanne House celebrating friends' special birthdays. It's a short hop in to Bath either by taxi or water taxi and the village itself has plenty of lovely pubs for a nice evening meal. We ate at the Bathampton Mill which was very good. This is also where you pick up the water taxi for a leisurely trip into Bath, with great commentary from the captain on the way. It's just a very short walk from the house.
The house itself was very comfortable and there was plenty of space for us all. Lots of outside space too with a comfortable sofa and chairs in the garden for an afternoon tea or lunch. The beds were very comfortable.
The only thing that we thought could be improve upon was the dishwasher which isn't great. Apart from that the answer to the question 'would you stay here again' would be a definite 'Yes'! …
