“Highly recommend” Amazing week away. We didn't want to come home! Definitely going back. River a couple of minutes walk. Great location. Bernie and Yan were awesome and welcomed us like family, including our dog. Peaceful with a lively pub a minute away. Caravan was clean and had everything you need. They even had tea, coffee and milk! Loved it.

“WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY.” This is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location no neighbours so quiet all you can hear is the local birds. Lou and John are lovely people and make you very welcome. The gadren is very large and is secure for the dogs to run free mine were exhausted after having fun all day. Lou has thought of everything even down to fire lighters for the log burners. The kitchen has everything you need only thing you need to bring is food and drink. There is plenty to do including fly fishing in a desinated area. The views are breath taking. We are definately coming back and i will reccommend it to family and friends. this property is as nice as the photos on the site you wont be disappointed.

“Peace and quiet in stunning surroundings, with adventure all around” Stayed at Dolgadfa for one week with two 'oldies', four middle agers and four teenagers. The cottages are very clean and located about 6 miles from Bala (about 1 mile from the nearest village of Llanderfel). The cottages are approached by a single track road and we estimated that there were no more than 10 vehicles per day using this road, you are about a mile from any other properties and people. So silence, beautiful scenery, great fishing on the private stretch of the river Dee. The main house dates back to the 1530's and the oak room divider is from the Spanish armada when the captured warships were dismantled in Liverpool at around that time. Lots of history. The location of the cottages is ideal for exploring all that North Wales has to offer. We spent time visiting Bounce Below, Tyddyn Llan (michellin starred restaurant 2 miles from Dolgadfa), Zip-Line Velocity, Snowdon ascent and descent, and National Whitewater rafting centre. All these activities were less than 1 hour drive away. Interestingly, most of North Wales has no mobile phone signal (Vodafone), but at Dolgadfa all was fine. Internet is available, but very slow (so it was possible to view emails and use the BBC News app, but not suitable for emailing photos or streaming anything). Our kids were entertained all week (the TV reception was very good for those few hours of quite time), and the layout of the houses lends itself to using the newer cottage as a family social lounge in the evenings to play games and wind down at the end of a long day. Lou (the owner) is very hospitable and welcomed us wholeheartedly. She apologised in advance for any noise we might hear during the Wednesday night of our stay as they were having a school leavers party two fields from Dolgadfa. We we all invited which was a very kind thing to do. We didn't hear anything! All in all a great holiday which will always be remembered for all the right reasons. Lots of experiences and memories for all of us.

“Cosy, quiet bolthole in the depths of the Welsh countryside” I was looking for a bolthole to walk the dog and indulge in some photography, reading, and generally to empty my head for a spell- I was not dissapointed. The stable was very cosy and had everything that was needed; there are some lovely walks-Bala with its views over the lake was only a short drive away and Snowdon not much further. When the sun [yep despite what some people say it did make an appearance in Wales-there is a heatwave at present] went down you could sit and watch the wooded area in the field in front of the cottage for Owls, bats and other creatures. There are views towards the Berwyn mountains and you are surrounded by lovely countryside. When you are ready to retire for the evening you can have a good nights sleep on extremely comfortable beds. The owners are really helpful and you are made to feel welcome. Ive already mentioned this place to some of my freinds as from where we live its only just over 2 hours away by car. I will return!!

“Beautiful Lodge” Just returned from a stay at 'Merrimoles'. That's the name for Lodge 67 at the holiday park. This has to be one of the best lodges on the park ... if not the best. Everything you could possibly need is available at the Lodge and all furniture, fittings and items are of the best quality. The hot tub is cleaned and refilled before each let and was a great asset as the weather wasn't too good. As I have a back problem I wasn't looking forward to sleeping in a holiday bed but the quality of all the beds is excellent and I slept well each night. Bala is within walking distance but as pensioners we didn't fancy the return walk which would have been all uphill! The younger members of the party did make the walk though. Our two whippets were welcomed and they could safely use the large deck as it's enclosed by upvc fencing. Be aware of the fridge/freezer isolation switch. It can easily be confused with a light switch! We did and the appliance was off for about 8 hours. Think about having a Tesco shop delivered on your first day. Their vans were regularly on site delivering groceries. Wished we had done that! Visit Llanberis Lake Railway and the National Slate Museum. Betws y Coed is a really pretty place and worth a visit.

“Magically peaceful and tranquil stay” Our was all we hoped it would be plus more the cabin is just gorgeous and has everything you could need or ask for. The hot tub was a great addition and sitting under the stars celebrating our wedding anniversary was so magically. Our hosts were great and welcoming people. This is a must destination for anyone looking to get away and relax. We will be back in the summer Thanks Sarah and Rich

“Really nice accomodation in a quiet village location.” Great to come back to and unwind with all mod cons and everything good quality, especially sofa, TV, bed and shower. We found the walk to and from Bala only a little over ten minutes - pavement all the way. Mel and Mick are very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

“Character Cottage” We had an amazing week holiday in the cottage with our 2 daughters and dog. The cottage has loads of character and we felt so at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage is nicely located away from the busy road with views of fields. Carol the owner is so nice and helpful from the moment we booked and really made us feel welcome. We saw so many things from going on the steam train at portmadog to beautiful days on the beach at Barmouth and Llududno. The highlight for us was a trip to Pistyll Rhaedr the highest waterfall in Britain. I would love to give a 5 rating but the kitchen, bathroom and appliances are a bit tired so have to mark slightly down for this but this added to the character to be honest. I would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we come back to the area.
