From the owner

Olde Blue Bell Barn is a warm cottage with a south westerly aspect. It catches the sun from early in the morning until dusk, witnessing stunning sunsets over the fells and Kent estuary. It is located in the quiet village of Heversham. For a relaxing drink, there is a traditional pub just 5 minutes walk from the cottage, or to work up a thirst you can walk from the door up Heversham fell, and experience stunning views of the Lakeland hills and estuary. A welcome pack will guide you around the local area; fresh tea and coffee, will greet you from your journey.

It has 2 bedrooms, a double room and a twin room. The double room can easily take an extra single bed, which we provide as a folding single bed. The bathroom is newly equipped with large bath, electric shower and underfloor heating for extra comfort.

A combined lounge / dining room and separate kitchen are located on the upper floor to allow full benefit of the views and evening sun. A flat screen TV with free Sky channels, DVD player, and a mini hi-fi system are provided. There is also a dedicated wireless internet connection for your computer. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge and small freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, electric cooker and hob. We keep it stocked with all the basic provisions you need to make holiday cooking a little easier.

Full gas central heating, which can be thermostatically set to a temperature of your liking, ensures The Barn is cosy at all times. There is a patio area for breakfasting in the morning sun or BBQ's. This cottage is ideal for families, couples or a group of friends. We are pet friendly, so your dog is welcome, and there is a small village play park at the end of the road for young families.

The village is ideally situated for site seeing or walking in both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Lake Windermere for example is 15 minutes by car to the southern most tip where you can catch a steamer for a relaxing journey around the lake. Or if you wish head directly into central lakes, Ambleside at the northern end of Lake Windermere is just 30 minutes away.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mary (the owner) a message.

If Mary (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
