Apartment | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 7
Welcome to our apartment in Notting Hill. This is very much a loved home full of character and is light, airy and comfortable, a newly refurbished property over two floors (820 square feet) with all the facilities one could wish for.
The apartment is in a safe and quiet conservation area on the first and second (top) floor of a purpose built (two story) building, (please note there is no lift, there are 3 sets of 8 stairs) a convenient three minute walk to the bustling Portobello Road where the famous Portobello Antiques Market takes place on Saturdays, the daily open air market (where you can buy fresh flowers and lovely fruit and vegetables), and plenty of great restaurants and cafés. The nearest small supermarkets for essentials are a 3 minute walk away.
Westfield shopping mall (Europe's largest) and Shepherd's Bush Central Line station is 5 minutes away.
Ladbroke Grove Underground station is only 3 minutes walk away, and there's a frequent bus service within a 2-minute walk that takes you to Oxford Street and the West End, (London's theatre district). Of course, we have a local taxi company that can take you anywhere at the drop of a hat!
A nearby bus service will take you to the famous City of Oxford in only one hour.
The entry floor level of the apartment has two bedrooms, one with full size single bunk beds and the other with full size single twin beds. There's a separate shower room with rain shower and a WC.
The top floor has an open living, dining and kitchen space; it has a well equipped hi spec kitchen with new appliances and a beautiful long farmhouse kitchen table. There is also a Stokke highchair should you need it. There's a state of the art Samsung flat screen TV with DVD and Netflix plus many other channels. Also there's an extensive collection of DVD's for those “stay at home” days when you're walked off your feet) and of course Wi-Fi.
The master bedroom has a King-size bed and has a family bathroom adjacent with a double-ended bath and powerful shower over it. There is also a single futon (chair) in this room.
The house is incredibly child friendly, we know how difficult it is to travel with children and slip quickly into a routine when you arrive somewhere new! We have plenty of books and toys and there are baby monitors in the bedrooms should you need them, we also have a travel cot if required which can be placed in any bedroom. If you're travelling with children you won't need to bring a thing other than their favourite snuggly! We can also provide you with a reliable babysitting service if desired.
Towels and linen are included and the apartment is spotlessly cleaned before each rental. Additional linen is available by arrangement and maid service during the rental period can be provided at guests' own cost. Our housekeeper lives around the corner and is on hand to deal with emergencies.
We provide a file filled with useful information so you can quickly get to grips with where everything is, not only in the property but our preferred restaurants and services in the area. There are also plenty of travel / guide books.
The accommodation is enormously flexible, the beds are of very high quality, and so are the showers: tenants often write appreciative notes about these. All the bedrooms are quietly appointed, so there should be little to disturb your sleep.
For those of you who crave exercise there's a Virgin Active gym in the same street and temporary membership can be arranged.
The apartment is a beautiful, practical and peaceful place to escape and enjoy London's hustle and bustle; our guests have told us that they enjoyed ' the luxury of a hotel whilst feeling a part of London life.'
We are experienced renters and also have a beautiful mews house listed on another website VRB* (#237235) which we have owned and managed for 8 years. Unfortunately

The flat is in west London, a three minute walk to the famous Portobello road market, the district made famous in the 1999 movie by Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. In fact you'll find the famous blue door on your left hand side just before you reach Portobello road walking up Westbourne Park road. (Cornwall crescent turns into Westbourne Park road when you cross it.)
You are within a short walk of one of the best shopping districts in London. Most famous is the weekend antique and silver market of Portobello Road, which also sells extraordinary fresh fruit, flowers and vegetables during weekdays (except Thursdays). But don't miss the many boutiques and designer stores of Westbourne Grove and All Saints Road, or the wonderful range of individual shops around Blenheim Crescent, Elgin Crescent, and Ledbury Road.
Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill is one of the most famous street markets in the world. The Saturday antiques market is the most popular but there is a street market six days a week. Portobello Road itself is a long, narrow street which stretches over two miles.
Portobello Road is lined with well-established shops and is not the average 'High Street' as most are independent stores. There has been a market on this street since around 1870. As well as the antique stalls there are a whole host of arcades, galleries, shops and cafes.
The area is also famous for being the setting for the film, Notting Hill.
