The Thatched Cottage is early 18 th Century set in a pretty secluded garden. Plenty of parking space.

Newly decorated , lots of original features with modern facilities.

The Sitting Room which has an inglenook , leads into the spacious airy kitchen diner with outlook on to the garden. Lots of space for alfresco dining as well as a separate dining room.

Gas central heating with radiators ,easy to use thermostat system.Log Burner for those chillier times.

St Michaels has a pub,post office /convenience store, hardware store , Chinese , kebab & fish & chip takeaways .Silcocks Farm Shop is a short walk , this has a cafe .

Both the Golf Club & Little Silver Hotel both do restaurant food.

The Garden Restaurant inside Ripley’s Garden Centre , traditional food made from fresh local produce . Open 7 days a week . 40 covers available outside in covered area is a short drive away in Bethesden.

It is a short walk into the attractive tree lined High Street of Tenterden with its mix of independent /chain shops , cafes and restaurants.

The town has a leisure centre with a gym and pool.

There are 2 golf courses in the area London Beach is 10 min walk away.Tenterden Golf Club a short drive.

There are many attractions in the locality, Chapel Down Vineyards

Curious Brewery (ASHFORD)

Woodchurch Vineyard ( both do tours)

Gusbourne Vineyard

Smallhythe Place , National Trust property once the home of Ellen Terry.

The Cottage is 18 th Century and beamed which is clear in the description. I am not sure what is meant by trip hazards, there is a small difference between levels in kitchen in to the sitting room but nothing else . The bathroom is as is . Bath with shower over. The stairs are also not unduly steep , see pictures. Glad you enjoyed the stay despite your observations

Thank you for taking the time to write a review but this is an inaccurate review . *Heating is by a new combo gas boiler with radiators NOT storage heaters With an easy to use thermostat. The cottage also has a log burner for autumn / winter . The entrance is wide and no harder to navigate than a side road on to a main road unless perhaps you are used to driving on the right ?There is plenty of parking , space to manoeuvre. Unfortunately your travelling companions were unable to stay maybe this is why you have picked up on these things. I did come to help once you had called me . The cottage is 16 th century and built as such . There are a couple of low areas but not unduly so , these are noted at the property. The bathroom is newly decorated. Yes we are next to a garage which shows on the location map not sure what relevance that would be ?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Pam (the owner) a message.

If Pam (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
