Contemporary, comfortable and luxurious 1-bedroom garden apartment close to Exeter, Dartmoor & South Devon beaches. Wonderful views, king size bed, stunning bathroom, open plan kitchen, living and dining room, with private patio to take in the views. Breakfast, Nespresso machine and bathrobes are provided for your use during your stay. Netflix & Disney+. Infant or one child also welcome.
The Burrow is a new conversion within the ground floor of our house which is a completely self contained garden apartment. It has been built/converted during summer 2020. Sound proofing has been designed by an Acoustic Engineer therefore noise transference between our space and yours should be minimal. As with The Hutch (our other listing) The Burrow is based upon what we look for in holiday accommodation (style and substance), and therefore hope you won't be lacking in anything.
Can be booked along with The Hutch for two sets of friends or family members for a joint holiday but with your own personal space to return to at the end of the day.
Parking for one car is off the road just outside your front door, this is shared with parking for The Hutch opposite.
Once you enter The Burrow you will step straight into the light and bright open plan living, dining area and kitchen.
The kitchen is contemporary in style, with white and ash units, appliances include fridge (with small freezer box), electric oven, induction hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. The dining table and chairs is next to the kitchen, with a stylish low hanging light above. Highchair can be provided. The kitchen is well equipped - if you feel that anything is missing please let us know.
The rest of the living space opens out towards the wide French doors, where you can make the most of the view. Comfy sofa, cushions, coffee table books, interesting artwork and baby/toddler toys and books - all on hand. The TV has Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+ if you wish to relax and wind down. The French doors then lead you to your own patio area where you can BBQ, sip a drink, take in the view over the surrounding farmland, watch the birds - deer, sheep, cows and horses can also often be seen. Owls are also a common nocturnal noise here.
Turning back towards the kitchen, the door will lead you into the bedroom. Again, the bedroom will be finished to a high standard. There is a king size bed with deep mattress, high quality bedding, plump pillows, cushions, stylish bedside lamps for night or day time reading. A walk in wardrobe with hanging space plus drawers and hairdryer plus full length mirror provided. This wardrobe is also the connecting door into our house - but it is locked from our side and we will never enter via this door without your prior agreement. If required, there is also space a fold out bed (for a child, not adult) and a travel cot (which we can provide). Both of which we provide.
From the bedroom, you will turn left into the bathroom. This yet again, is finished to a high standard with full length bath, overhead power shower, fluffy towels, posh handwash and shower gel. Bath robes are provided for your use during your stay.
In terms of provisions, tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper are available regardless of length of stay. For breakfast we supply you with bread, pain au chocolat, butter, jam, marmalade, cereal, museli, porridge and local milk. For those staying 3 nights or more we will make sure you have a bottle of wine to sip and biscuits. Within 5-10 drive is a small McColls shop and Tesco Express can be found in St Thomas, or a large Sainsburys in Alphington. Or you can try Mount Boon Milk (30 sec drive) to fill up your glass reusable milk bottle from cows in the village, buy eggs, granola, clotted cream, butter and cheese. Even try adding syrups to your bottle of milk for a milkshake! All very local.
A welcome pack will be in The Hutch providing local information and I will also email this to guests after booking, but if you are new to the area and are looking for restaurant recommendations or a taxi to be booked before you arrive, then please let me know. Our well regarded local pub, The Lamb at Longdown, is just a 3 min walk away - exceptional food, locally sourced. Booking recommended.
