Doves Cottage is part of the Kingston Estate a magnificent events venue and provider of luxury holiday cottages in Devon. Nestling amongst the rolling hills of the beautiful South Hams it is perfectly situated between Dartmoor and the South Devon coastal towns of Totnes, Torquay. Paignton, Brixham Dartmouth Kingsbridge and Salcombe to name but a few. It is located in Staverton and is a real hideaway location if you want to be near the coast but away from the crowds. The nearby quirky town of Totnes famous for its independent shopping is only 3 miles away.
The cottages are very popular with walkers and there are some lovely walks that you can do from our cottages including an enchanting walk along the river Dart. There are two great pubs/eateries in walking distance of our cottages one situated in Staverton a mile away and the other in Broadhempston which is the next village along. Nearby activities include horse riding (we have a riding school next door), adventure parks, sailing, golf (we can offer free rounds of golf at Dinnaton near Ivybridge 15 minutes away), steam trains (there is a station in Staverton), boat trips, animal farms, water park, beautiful beaches, walking on the moors and fabulous restaurants to name a few.
Our luxury cottages provide a secure fenced garden or courtyard, contemporary furnishings, bedding (Egyptian Cotton) and towels, flat screen T.V's, DVD players, free WIFI, cots, sterilisers, high chairs and stair gates are also available. All of the accommodation has full central heating which is powered by a recently installed Biomass boiler with some of the cottages having additional wood burners.
Doves Cottage was converted from an agricultural building built circa 1650 it is set in a private cobbled courtyard over looked by large mullioned windows with a thatched roof and cob walls.
There is secure parking in the courtyard just outside the cottage and it is in close proximity to the walled garden, the play area and swimming pool.
Doves Cottage is one of three two bedroom cottages however it has an interconnecting door into Little Cottage and therefore it can also be a three bedroom property (however please request the additional bedroom when booking this cottage where there is an additional charge.) It is at the North East end of the 19th Century barn and has unparalleled views across the fields to the village of Broadhempston. The ground floor is all open plan with a well equipped kitchen area, a cosy living space with leather sofas, flat screen TV, and a DVD player. There is a further ground floor king sized bedroom should the interconnected door be used. Upstairs there is a master bedroom, a twin room and family bathroom. Outside there is a secure picket fenced garden with views over the fields.
There is secure parking outside the cottage and it is in close proximity to the leisure facilities.
