Sleeps 8 - With its inspirational setting, this cottage is not just by the sea, it is in the sea. Situated in arguably the finest location in the picturesque fishing village of Pittenweem, this refitted 18th century cottage has been transformed into perfect holiday accommodation for a party of up to 8.
House on the Rock has a magnificent coastal setting on the harbour of old Pittenweem, one of the most charming fishing villages in the East Neuk of Fife. The house is set on the rocks overlooking the Firth of Forth and enjoys spectacular south-facing views out across the water towards the Bass Rock and North Berwick beyond.
Totally refurbished during 2012, the cottage offers a remarkable lounge with south facing windows, breath-taking views to the south, west and east, across the lapping waves of the Forth. There is one double bedroom and two twin bedded rooms, all with en suite facilities and a further spacious attic twin room. A luxury kitchen has been newly installed and there is a separate dining room to relax over dinner after a day spent enjoying the East Neuk of Fife equipped with a wood-burning stove.
The renovations have been carried out sympathetically maintaining many original features while incorporating life's little luxuries.
The accommodation comprises:-
Main entrance hall which leads onto the L-shaped kitchen with integrated appliances including an induction cooker, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.
Adjacent to this is the dining room which has laminate flooring and a lovely wood-burning stove, perfect for keeping cosy in the winter months. The dining table has seating for 9.
A spiral staircase leads up from the dining room to the first floor lounge with plenty of comfortable seating and a TV with Freeview. It features windows on 3 aspects with particularly stunning views to the south.
Bedroom 1 is a twin bedroom on the ground floor - it boasts a window seat and ample storage space in the form of built-in wardrobes. There is also an en-suite bathroom with WC, wash hand basin and bath with shower above.
Bedroom 2 is a room with a double bed on the first floor and can be accessed from the lounge. It has exposed ceiling beams (a lovely feature), fitted shelves and a tiled fireplace. It has an en-suite with self-contained bath with shower overhead, WC and wash hand basin.
There is a second door into Bedroom 2 which leads off from the main staircase and is directly opposite the entrance to Bedroom 3, another comfortable room with built-in wardrobe and cupboard with twin beds. Again, it has its own en-suite with a double shower compartment with electric shower and mixer shower valve, WC and wash hand basin.
Bedroom 4 is in the loft and is an airy twin bedroom with velux windows letting in plenty of light. The utility room with washer and drier is also on this level. The attic room also has an en-suite wc and sink in the utility room.
