"Don't book a holiday at this house"

The first 24 hours we had little water. Just enough for kettle and to run a basin. One of our group went for a run as soon as we arrived only to find no water in shower!! This was sat late afternoon.… More

What a shame Meg 550 from London experienced the horrendous weather we had during their stay at Hole House in June. This was the week when the Axe Valley flooded dramatically enough to cause 8 boats to be washed out to sea from the Axe Harbour. In fact we contacted these guests on the day of the floods to ensure they had left the property safely and no mention was made of any problems. The owners of Hole House are aware of the leak in the conservatory and have not only made several repairs but have also put in for planning permission for a new conservatory. Unfortunately this has been turned down by the Council. However they are continuing to try to get this through. We agree the property is old fashioned but this is how the owners want it to be as they have said, on many occasions, that if they were to update the property, it would be priced out of the holiday letting market. They want people to be able to enjoy the history and location at a reasonable cost. Had this guest informed us, during their stay, of any misgivings it is our policy to act immediately and rectify things as soon as possible to the satisfaction of our guests. Unfortunately we were not given the chance to do so on this occasion.
