Perfect stay for a large family in a peaceful area.
We loved the house and we found everything we needed. A second shower would have been useful for our large family group, especially as we were in Wiltshire for a wedding.
The grandchildren loved the garden and play equipment and on a wet day there was plenty of floor space in the conservatory for them to play games.
This is a great base for sightseeing. So much to do. Bath is very close, as is Bowood house & gardens, Stourhead (Nat Trust) also Lacock and lots more. …

The Old Stable House
A compact property that is fine for two people. Owner is very thoughtful and provided a generously stocked fridge to get us over the first day. Will definitely be returning soon. …
The Lamb on the Strand Cottage
Fantastic country cottage, with lovely views and cosy country pub.
my husband and I stayed here Christmas 2013, as its close to relatives and friends but we like our own space!. cottage was much nicer than we,d expected, a barn conversion turned into two cottages. ours was cosy and very well decorated with lovely furniture, downstairs was a lounge and kitchen with dining area, with everything needed for self catering. upstairs was a beautiful beamed bedroom very in keeping with the country cottage feel and look of the place.it was all very clean, fresh and welcoming. felt at home!
Brian the Landlord of the Lamb on the Strand Pub, was very friendly, welcoming and helpful, he even lent me a cafetiere and fresh coffee to use as I'm a fussy coffee drinker!
views out the back and from bedroom were amazing, fields, trees and lovely countryside, we even saw deer.
Food in the pub was fantastic, we especially enjoyed the Tapas menu, which we enjoyed sitting by a roaring, open log fire.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation and pub and hope to stay there again soon. …
