“What a view!” My wife and I stayed in Debbie's apartment for three nights following our wedding at the The Pier House.
I'm from the area but have never had quite such a view of the bay.
Sitting in bed with a cup of tea looking out over the bay was amazing and a well timed high tide and rough seas made for excellent entertainment at night.
A beautifully put together apartment with everything we could have needed during our stay. Local shops just a pebbles throw away with easy access to on site parking.
Communication from Debbie was great throughout.
Thanks for a wonderful way to complete our weekend.
“Perfect Home from Home” Location very good beach just across the road. Handy for local shops and restaurants. Apartment has everything that you need and well maintained would like to return at a later date.
“River View Bideford” Very prompt communication from Peter the owner. Fabulous instructions for arriving and parking. Beautiful, clean, comfortable. Stunning views. Nothing too much trouble. Very handy for local amenities and as a base for day trips. Due to location it wouldn’t suit people with mobility issues, however as a family it was ideal for us. Will definitely book again and highly recommend
“Lovely family house in pretty village” This was a family holiday with 6 adults, 3 children aged 8-11 and 2 under 4. There was plenty of room for everyone and the children had their own living room!
The house is situated in a pretty little village and right next door to a lovely family pub which serves great food and local beers. Noise is not an issue whatsoever.
The house itself is very clean and fresh clean bedding and towels. We even had little mini chocolate eggs on our towels as it was Eastertime, which was a nice touch.
As there was 11 of us there was just enough plates, plenty of mugs etc & cutlery, although one thing they could improve on is the cheap cutlery. It's very 'basic value' which felt about like being back at school, but it's really not a big issue in the grand scheme of things!!
The bedrooms are all really spacious, no where to hang clothes particularly as the majority of wardrobes are locked for the owners use, but there's plenty of drawer space.
There's a lovely big bath but takes a while to fill & takes all the hot water! Shower was good too!
It's very central/easy to get to tourism sites like Woolacombe, Bude, The Milkyway, Bideford etc.
We had a really lovely time, made good use of the lovely big garden which is very safe for little ones, we used the barbecue (although it wasn't warm enough to sit out) and had lovely big family meals around the kitchen table. Would go back tomorrow :)
“Relaxing place to get away from it all” The combination of spa (massages, hot tub, treatments etc) and long walks along the spectacular Devon coastline, plus great local restaurants (and nice rural pubs) made this an absolute hit for us. We are parents with young children and having a suite all to ourselves and the privacy to relax within it, as well as have a spa there to get some pampering in, made this one of the nicest long weekends we had away ever. It really was a great place to unwind...
