“Superb!!” We couldn't fault this amazing place. Allan was a fantastic host, nothing was a problem and he had thought of everything. The house was immaculately clean, super spacious and comfortable.Over looking the gorgeous Loch Bee, we had Stags every evening and the kids loved the wild ponies, we were even lucky enough to see an eagle on our last night. The location of this property is excellent for visiting both ends of the Uists. A particular highlight for us was Eriskay, we thoroughly enjoyed our boat trip with the Uists Sea Tours, even though we didnt see any dolphins as we had hoped, it was lovely to see the islands from the water. I cant recommend this place highly enough.
“Renovated blackhouse in idyllic seaside location” Great pictures on the website but even they fail to do justice to the truly fantastic location of this former blackhouse which has been renovated to provide all mod cons without losing its character. Underrloor heating, comfy bed, very well equipped kitchen, bathroom and cosy living room together with thoughtful welcoming touches including milk, oatcakes and dark chocolate ginger biscuits in the fridge were a wonderful tonic after the stress of last minute ferry cancellations due to gales which meant that sadly we arrived 24 hours late. A sign or nameboard would be helpful to confirm you're at the right place (there's another converted blackhouse just down the road). And visitors need to be aware that the second bedroom is up in the eaves with very restricted headspace with a pull-down loft ladder which wouldn't suit the very young or old so perhaps more suited to 2 than 4 guests but otherwise the most fantastic place, just wish we had been able to stay longer.
