Description from owner

Description

Hollyhock House is a large and heavenly period farm house . It is situated in the rural village of Stonesfield. It’s an ideal base to recharge your batteries.

The house has recently undergone restoration which has included a conversion of the attached old barn and stable into dwelling space. The house has benefited from a new oak framed porch/boot room, which is now the focal point of the front of the house. To the side of the house we have also added a large oak framed dinning room. The dinning room hosts 16 people comfortably. It's ideal for entertaining your friends and family, plus it has an arctic cabin in the garden, and fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.

It is the ideal base to stay, with access to the Cotswolds, where you could and stop for lunch/spa/yoga at Daylesford Farm. Bus routes allow you to get the bus to Woodstock, Oxford, Charlbury and Cotswolds. You can take a tour and visit Blenheim Palace, as well as Oxford Universities

You can take the children to Cotswold Wildlife park. Being sited in the centre of one of the most beautiful places in the country we have a plethora of fabulous days out for you to explore.

The house benefits from free view TV and free wifi and large DVD collection.

The house has hard floors downstairs which is ideal for well behaved pets (except the snug room which is carpeted) and carpeted throughout upstairs.

It is oozing in charm, and is warm and cozy throughout. It still boasts original oak beams and open fireplaces, as well as an Aga to warm your cockles. It is an ideal retreat to get some quality family time.

The surrounding area boasts beautiful walks and views, with access to the Oxfordshire way on your doorstep. If you search #stonesfield on Instagram you'll see what a beautiful area we live in.

The house is on different levels so this may not be ideally suited if you have mobility issues.

The house includes all bed linens and towels for your stay.

Two travel cots and two high chairs. Please let the owner know if you require additional equipment at the time of booking.

We do not provide babies (cot) bed linen.

Board games and an extensive DVD collection over 200 titles

Car parking on the drive for 3 to 4 cars. Additional parking can be at Spratts Farm, 80 meters walk away.

Village amenities include a village shop, hair dressers, post office, The White Horse Pub which serves food, new children's village play park, cricket matches at the weekends, more…..

The bedrooms have been beautifully decorated in keeping with the charm of the farmhouse.

Location description from owner

The England region

Woodstock

Stonesfield sits in an area of natural beauty. Even on a grey and cloudy day it's simply lovely. The people are friendly and everyone says hello in the street. The village pub - The white horse, is a bolt hole at the weekends and you'll find a good pint and delicious food served. You never know who'll your meet in there, from country gent to hot totty!

There are some stunning walking and biking country. Fabulous tracks off roads. I am a rider and can share routes with you.
