The sitting room has a cosy wood burning stove and comfortable sofas, with books, dvds and games with a second dining area. There is a downstairs loo and a utility with washing machine, tumble drier and plenty of space for hanging coats and walking boots.
Nestling under ancient oaks in the garden is a handmade, fully insulated shepherds hut. It has it's own wood burning stove, making it cosy whatever the time of year. It is a lovely place to sit and read with a glass of wine or two, taking in the beautiful views. The sofa converts into a double bed, if you should like to bring extra guests (£40 per night).

It is on our family sheep farm, so along with a garden, there is another 100 acres to explore as well as lots of fantastic, scenic walks in the area too.
The city of Hereford, with its historic cathedral and museums is a very short drive away. Nearby are Abergavenny and Ludlow, famed for their food festivals.
The Brecon Beacons and canal with boat hire are easily accessible too.
For children there are farm parks, play barns, bowling, play parks, pony trekking……the list goes on!
Meals can be prepared for you, daily housekeeping, pampering sessions, paint balling, quad biking and much more, can all be arranged for your visit.
The Stable is on the same site as Cothill Barn - property number 539857. When booked together they can accommodate up to 14- 20 guests.

“Beautiful and well equipped cottage”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2014

A Lovely converted stable in a peaceful location with stunning views. We have holidayed in cottages throughout the UK for years and never found a more comfortable, cosy and spacious place to stay. Good walks from the doorstep and pubs with great beer and cider and even better welcomes. We arrived at the stable to fine some fantastic homemade goodies and peace and quiet that is rare. No effort has been spared by Ali to make this a very special place to holiday.

“Excellent rural retreat”

The Stable is peacefully situated on top of a hill on a charming sheep farm. The views from the garden are beautiful and we spent several relaxing evenings with a glass of wine out there next to the cosy shepherd's hut. The Stable has been stylishly converted and has everything you'll need to cater for a family holiday but is also intimate enough for a couple. The build quality is high end and it retains lots of original features whilst also providing the essential free wifi connection ! Our small grandchildren loved watching the ducks & chickens. Ali provides an excellent welcome pack including homemade cake and we took advantage of her delicious pre-ordered cooking service so arrived to find the freezer stocked with home cooked meals & treats. We booked for a week but on the Friday decided to stay on for a few days, Ali couldn't have been more helpful in arranging this. We will definitely stay again and are hoping to book the larger Cothill Barn for a family get together next spring/summer.

“Relaxing stay on a blustery weekend!”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2014

We arrived on what was the windiest weekend this year. On arriving the lights were on and gave a warm welcome. The Stable is beautifully renovated and kitted out - its was lovely to have lots of homemade goodies in the welcome hamper too :) Ali the owner made us very welcome, especially when the wind was so bad the electricity went off - she was soon on the doorstep with extra candles and a kettle we could use on the woodburner (luckily it was only off for half an hr). We enjoyed a wonderful weekend and will definitely go back. We have two small terriers hence the only improvement I could suggest is to make the garden totally dog proof (especially as the chickens were opposite the property) but Ali did advise that the fencing was new so hopefully next time we can keep them in the garden!

“Top end comfort - superbly presented.”

Stunning setting perched on a hill overlooking hills and valleys and surrounded by farm and wildlife. A warm and friendly interior - extremely well equipped modern kitchen with welcome pack - we demolished the lemon cake and bread and appreciated the fresh eggs - hens seen from window. Very comfy beds - fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Good location - we did Hay on Wye for books and food; three local castles and then spread slightly further afield to Hereford - didn't make it to Brecon but that was the plan - too many other things to do. It was quite hot at night but the heating is in its infancy and the space age oven took a while to master - but that's me being a bit slow. Very highly recommended - we have two boys - 10yrs and 12yrs.
