The cottage used to be a '2 up, 2 down' but has been extended downstairs to include kitchen, sun room and living room. Upstairs is 2 bedrooms with a Jack and Jill style bathroom.

There is a box on the bookshelf in the living room full of tourist leaflets/pamphlets and bus timetables.

Travel cot bed and high chair available on request.

Please note there is a wood burner in the living room but this is NOT a working fire and no attempt should be made to start a fire in it.

Location description from owner

The England region

Central to England and central to so much to see and do! Explore the beautiful Cotswolds with its quaint villages and superb countryside; be enthralled by a day trip to Warwick Castle; relish the beauty and historic content of Blenheim Palace; browse round the historic market towns of Evesham and Alcester; brave 'All Things Wild' - an exciting animal reserve with exotic creatures to see at close hand. The Stratford Armouries (just outside the Centre) is also worth a visit and has a lovely indoor soft play area for young children. For National Trust lovers there is a wealth of properties and gardens to visit, including Charlecote Park and Coughton Court.

Stratford-upon-Avon

There is plenty to do right on the doorstep of 'Fair Haven' cottage. Go back in time as you visit the 5 Shakespearean houses to see where Will was born and grew up. Be inspired by the Tudor buildings throughout the town centre. Stroll along the river banks of the Avon; jump on a river cruise or hire your own motor or rowing boat to explore the waters around Stratford. The canal also provides great waterside walks plus the opportunity to hire narrow boats and try your skill with the locks. Relax on an Open Top bus or chill out in the numerous cafes and restaurants. Enjoy the delights of Stratford market which was awarded the best private market in 2014 and attracts many visitors each week. And of course, there are the theatres - offering tours as well as plays each day, throughout the day.

For those with more energy there are plenty of cycle routes including The Greenway with 5 miles of traffic free cycling, and where you can also hire bikes. Stratford has a number of golf courses too: Welcome Hills, Tiddington and Snitterfield.

The Butterfly Farm is a real favourite with children (and adults too!) as is the Mechanical Art and Design Museum. The large park next to the river has wonderful play areas for children and if caught in the 'odd' shower there is also the Leisure Centre with a wide variety of sports on offer.

Don't forget - all the above is a stone's throw from 'Fair Haven's' door.

“Couldn't ask for more”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2016

A very cosy cottage, conveniently located near the centre but in a very quiet street, close to the train station, fully and very tastefully equipped, very clean! We really like it! The landlady kindly answers e-mails very quickly and even left welcoming gifts for us! Lovely jam and yummy cookies! The garden at the back is beautifully kept, indoors is also great! We thoroughly recommend this place and hope to visit again; our children love tha games abd dvds they have in the lounge! Thank you

Owner's reply: So pleased you really enjoyed your stay. It was a delight to host for you. Thank you so much for your review - much appreciated.

“Charming small cottage in middle of town.”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2016

My 3 adult daughters and I stayed at Fair Haven for 4 nights whilst attending a Shakespeare course. It is a charming, well equipped holiday let with the added benefit of a small garden (with garden furniture). The owner was efficient and extremely helpful, we felt she would be there immediately should we need her - we didn't, everything worked perfectly. The downstairs has been extended and provides a sitting room, and a kitchen diner with a table for 4. There was also comfortable seating for 4 in both the sitting room and the kitchen diner. There is only one lavatory, upstairs, in the 'jack and jill' bathroom cleverly sandwiched between the bedrooms. The bedrooms have hanging space/wardrobes and drawers. We stayed after an incredibly hot week and the owner had thoughtfully provided fans for the bedrooms (which we didn't need). We would definitely rent this cottage again, it was so conveniently located for both the tourist sights and our course. It is a classic small terrace house and my only word of caution is that it might not suit 4 amply proportioned adults! for example the entrance to the shower is about 15". However with the exception of this one point I would heartily recommend this let. There is no parking and the cottage is on a single lane one way street, but it was easy to pull onto the pavement to quickly unload and the car park is close. Coming by rail would be a breeze as the cottage is only a realistic 10 minutes walk from the station.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your detailed and helpful review. So glad you thoroughly enjoyed your stay in the cottage and Stratford itself. Sorry about the narrower shower entry - not been mentioned before! We needed to put a slider door in to ensure the shower itself was a decent size.
