“The perfect getaway”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2015

Craigdarroch was a very neat cottage with lots of charm. We really enjoyed our stay. If you like walking in hills and trees you could do no better.

The cottage is warm, clean and beyond description. Log fire is easy to use and everything is perfect and superb. Thanks!

“Perfect retreat”

Reviewed 24 Feb 2015

Lovely cottage, very well thought out in terms of layout and felt very spacious and was spotlessly clean which must be a difficult job as muddy dogs are a challenge! Iggi found the treat on the dog bed within about 5 seconds of getting through the door, lovely touch along with bed and towel for her and food bowls.Log burning stove etc was great but then I have one at home so a big fan already and wouldn't rent a cottage without one. Lovely comfortable bed too. Cottage was tucked away up the lane yet in the centre of St Fillans though we deliberately went out of peak times so everywhere was very quiet. We did some lovely walks and had a day of decent snowfall which was great. Only sad thing was that the Tap Bar at the Drummond Hotel/soon to be Loch Earn brewery wasn't open yet so will definitely look forward to sampling that when we return! We ventured to the Achray House Hotel where I had visited 3 years earlier. New owner literally just taken over, somewhat chaotic dinner service which did not justify the price however lovely friendly staff and owner and would definitely give them the benefit of the doubt with regards to future visits once they have settled in!

“What a great place to stay”

Well laid out accommodation situated in some of the best scenic areas of Scotland. Ideally suited for hillwalking and Munro bagging. Hills on your doorstep. Local microbrewery about to open in the next few months and a local hostelry which made us very welcome. What more could you ask for?

“Amazing!”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2014

Craigdarroch cottage is amazing! It is in the most beautiful location with views of the stunning Loch Earn from the cottage itself. The owner provided great little touches for when we arrived - bottle of bubbly and treats for the dogs. The cottage is decorated beautifully and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and was very clean. The bed was so comfortable and it was so quiet we could have slept all day. The cottage has a lovely wood burning stove but we didn't get to use it as the weather was so nice. The owner had provided directions for different walks in the area. We tried most of them and all had wonderful views. And of course the dogs loved them. We loved nearby Crieff and the Dalchonzie fruit farm. Well worth a visit. The owner was having decking built in the wooded area outside the cottage while we were there which will be lovely to sit on and watch the sun set when it is completed. There are so many amazing things to say about this cottage. The only picky thing was that the sofas were not very comfortable and were very springy. Despite this we loved our time at Craigdarroch cottage. We loved it so much we have booked again for New Year. Can't wait.

“Fabulous, cozy cottage in wonderful Perthshire”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2014

We enjoyed a wonderful break at Craigdarroch cottage. Cottage is beautifully laid out and had everything we needed. Owner has done an amazing job in refurbishing the cottage. We played golf at Comrie and Killin, and enjoyed walks straight from the cottage door. Will definitely be back!

“Beautiful refurbished cottage with Loch views, pooch friendly”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2014

Fantastic long weekend at this special cottage. Situated inside the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park it's an ideal base to explore the amazing Perthshire countryside. As soon as we walked through the door the stress of the working week evaporated. The cottage has been beautifully refurbished to a high standard and is well equipped for that perfect stay including the all important cork screw and wine cooler. Poppy the dog had a fantastic time too with walks straight from the front door, dog bed and some treats being an extra special touch. Would definitely recommend a stay.

“What a wonderful cottage”

Reviewed 25 May 2014

We had a wonderful stay at Craigdarroch Cottage and can't thank Ailsa enough for opening up her home for others to appreciate. You can tell Ailsa's heart and soul went in to restoring the cottage. We stayed for 3 nights with our dogs and wished we could have stayed longer. We usually stay in a self catering cabin and normally have to take everything but the kitchen sink with us so we were surprised at how well equipped the cottage was. The cottage is open plan with 2 couches, flat screen tv, dvd player (there are even some dvds) and even enough room for a dinning table. The bedroom has a huge bed (super kingsize I think) which was incredibly comfortable, didn't want to get out of bed in the morning!! We took the dogs for walks along the suggested routes which they loved. We especially loved the roaring fire at the end of the day. I can't recommend this cottage highly enough and we look forward to our next visit.

“The most perfect week”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

We had an absolutely fantastic week at Craigdarroch Cottage; it is the perfect place to relax and soak up the tranquility of the Highlands. The Cottage was lovely and clean and had everything we and our dog needed. We had a great time exploring walking routes during the day and then resting our weary legs in front of the cosy wood burning stove at night. We can't wait to go back!

“A great escape to the country”

Reviewed 26 Feb 2014

Craigdarroch cottage is the perfect location for a holiday to get away from it all. With views of loch earn, and a roaring log burning fire, it was the perfect way to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of great walks to explore from the doorstep.
