Little Thatch is our gorgeous picture postcard cottage in Shorwell, Isle of Wight.

This charming Grade II listed thatched cottage is over 260 years old and full of character.

Built from local stone, over time the cottage has been extended, and now provides comfortable accommodation for 6 people.

There is parking for up to 3 cars, and even a handy 3-pin socket for electric cars to 'granny charge' from!

At the back a beautiful large lawned garden is complemented by a patio, decking, garden furniture, summer house with games and a tree platform – all of which make this a perfect holiday cottage for families.

Shorwell is in the West Wight, & was said to be Queen Victoria's favourite village on the Island! It has picturesque thatched cottages, a 12th Century church, a shop and an excellent village pub within a 5 minute walk.

It is well placed to explore all the Isle of Wight has to offer – attractions such as Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Blackgang Chine, The Needles and all the south coast beaches are within very easy reach.

In traditional country style you enter the cottage round the back into the dining room. To the right you will find the ground floor kingsize bedroom, with an adjacent shower room making this ideally suited for elderly members of the family.

To the left is a fully fitted galley kitchen. Off this is a cosy and comfortable lounge with 2 chairs and a 2-seat sofa, as well as large window seats. This room features exposed stone walls, beams, wood panels, brick fireplace and an electric 'log burner'. Beyond the lounge is a second sitting room with a leather chesterfield sofa, two bean bags, TV/DVD and many games.

Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms. To the left, the double bedroom has a kingsize bed and leads to a bathroom with bath, hand basin & toilet. The twin room on the right has two single beds.

Free WiFi is included, as well as a freeview "Smart" TV in main lounge.

The cottage is not suitable for pets.

Why can't I call Mike (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Mike (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mike (the owner) a message.

If Mike (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
