The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is the UK's most popular holiday island and has one of the mildest climates in the country along with being one of the sunniest places in the UK.
The Isle of Wight is very small being diamond shaped and measuring just 16 miles by 23 miles. This adds to being a great holiday destination as everywhere is within easy travelling distance. The isle of Wight became a fashionable place to holiday in the Victorian era after Queen Victoria opened a summer home at Osborne House in East Cowes. The towns of Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde are the most popular tourism resorts on the island with the West Wight being more rural.
Over half of the Isle of Wight is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty with 60 miles of beaches including heritage coastline. For those who like walking and cycling you'll never be bored as the island boasts over 500 miles of well maintained clearly signposted routes and pathways. The Isle of Wight is home to the biggest annual walking festivals which occur in May and September each year.
For families the Isle of Wight is absolutely packed full of things to do and attractions to visit. The Needles is probably the most famous of all island destinations and here you can enjoy a chairlift ride that takes you from the clifftop down to the beach giving you a birds eye view of the stunning coloured sands that this area of Alum Bay is famous for as well as the 3 rocky stacks and lighthouse that you can get closer to on a short boat trip.
Blackgang Chine offers many surprises and goes down in history as being the first theme park in the world to open! It is also well known for it's Disappearing Village attraction.
Cowes in the North of the island is world renown for it's yachting and sailing events throughout the year.
There are many places of historical interest open to visitors including Queen Victoria's Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Appuldurcombe House and many more.
Shanklin nestles in the South East of the Isle of Wight and has a wonderful mild climate with above average days of sunshine. Shanklin Villa is located just a few minutes walk away from Shanklin Beach and Esplanade. Along the Esplanade you can hire deckchairs, play crazy golf/putting let children work off energy with the indoor play areas and get some light refreshments from cafes and bars. There is a stunning Cliff Walk 2 minutes from your apartments that takes you to Sandown and offers some stunning views of the sea. For an easier walk you can go along the sandy beach or Esplanade.
A few minutes walk from the apartments takes you in to Shanklin Old Village with its traditional thatched cottages. Here you'll also find Shanklin Chine with it's deep gorge and waterfalls. Shanklin Town Centre is close by with it's high street shops and supermarkets.
Along the seafront you can access a variety of watersports

"Lovely little hideaway."
We had a great few days away in Shanklin and stayed there with our toddler. We'd definitely stay in this studio apartment again. Many thanks for everything.

"great accommodation and location."
Very good apartment and great location for seafront, restaurants and shops. This was our second visit for my birthday, we had a 4 night break in February 2015. As we enjoyed it so much in June 2014 we booked for another week in June 2015.

"Good place, good price!"
Nice studio apartment finished to high standard with well equipped kitchen, easy walking distance to shanklin, local pubs and restaurants. Be a bit cosy if there where four of you but great for two.

"Very well appointed studio apartment."
Greatly enjoyed our short break at the Shanklin Villa Apartments. We stayed in the Battenburg studio apartment which was ideal for a couple. Nice big wet room/shower, excellent kitchen and good (free) wi-fi. The location is perfect - very close to Shanklin Chine, the beach and Shanklin village where there are several good restaurants, pubs and a theatre. Would stay there again!

"Clean, tidy, & very well equipped apartment"
Really happy with this holiday let, we have booked other places and been disappointed when we arrived but this one does exactly what it says on the tin and more. It is situated in an excellent part of shanklin with easy reach of everything and just a short stroll from the lovely old village. The apartment came with the use of a hot tub which had lovely sea views . Apartment was well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher and the cupboards were stocked with washing powder, dishwasher tablets and washing up cloths, the only thing I would say it lacked was a swifter for the floor and something to wipe the bathroom floor as it was a wet room and got very wet and took a long time to dry but we would definitely return

"Excellent holiday despite high winds."
Great deal. Fantastic studio with everything you could need. Close to Shanklin beach but well protected from the stormy weather. Made use of the facilities at nearby Luccombe Hall. Very enjoyable holiday.

"Perfect location, nice cosy size!"
We stayed here for a late summer break for 7 nights and were immediately impressed with the location. A 5 minute walk to the seafront and 5 minute walk into the Old Village! The apartment was very well kept and very clean. It was very warm and on the one wet day we had, we didn't mind staying in the apartment all day!
