The England region

The Isle of Wight is the UK's most popular holiday island and has one of the mildest climates in the country along with being one of the sunniest places in the UK.

The Isle of Wight is very small being diamond shaped and measuring just 16 miles by 23 miles. This adds to being a great holiday destination as everywhere is within easy travelling distance. The isle of Wight became a fashionable place to holiday in the Victorian era after Queen Victoria opened a summer home at Osborne House in East Cowes. The towns of Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde are the most popular tourism resorts on the island with the West Wight being more rural.

Over half of the Isle of Wight is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty with 60 miles of beaches including heritage coastline. For those who like walking and cycling you'll never be bored as the island boasts over 500 miles of well maintained clearly signposted routes and pathways. The Isle of Wight is home to the biggest annual walking festivals which occur in May and September each year.

For families the Isle of Wight is absolutely packed full of things to do and attractions to visit. The Needles is probably the most famous of all island destinations and here you can enjoy a chairlift ride that takes you from the clifftop down to the beach giving you a birds eye view of the stunning coloured sands that this area of Alum Bay is famous for as well as the 3 rocky stacks and lighthouse that you can get closer to on a short boat trip.
Blackgang Chine offers many surprises and goes down in history as being the first theme park in the world to open! It is also well known for it's Disappearing Village attraction.

Cowes in the North of the island is world renown for it's yachting and sailing events throughout the year.
There are many places of historical interest open to visitors including Queen Victoria's Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Appuldurcombe House and many more.

Shanklin

Shanklin nestles in the South East of the Isle of Wight and has a wonderful mild climate with above average days of sunshine. Shanklin Villa is located just a few minutes walk away from Shanklin Beach and Esplanade. Along the Esplanade you can hire deckchairs, play crazy golf/putting let children work off energy with the indoor play areas and get some light refreshments from cafes and bars. There is a stunning Cliff Walk 2 minutes from your apartments that takes you to Sandown and offers some stunning views of the sea. For an easier walk you can go along the sandy beach or Esplanade.

A few minutes walk from the apartments takes you in to Shanklin Old Village with its traditional thatched cottages. Here you'll also find Shanklin Chine with it's deep gorge and waterfalls. Shanklin Town Centre is close by with it's high street shops and supermarkets.
Along the seafront you can access a variety of watersports

“Excellent accomodation with great facilties”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2015

A great set of apartments, with high quality apartments, fantastic staff and great views. The apartment block is in a great location with ample parking for the apartments.

“Probably the best.”

Stuck a mile away from our holiday apartment on our way to start our holiday because of a RTA the lady owner turned up and took my family (+ a 1 year old) to were we were staying. This lady looked after us even before our holiday had started so may I say thank you. And to say the least the properts we rented for the week was something special, fantastic kitchens, massive living rooms and bedrooms. The bonus? (CHINE COURT APARTMENTS) good gardens overlooking the English Channel next to Rhylstone park. Chine Court Appartements, Wish i had booked there for the summer. Number 1 on my list for self catering.

“Perfect holiday apartment”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2014

We have stayed at Shanklin Villas several times and in several different apartments. Whether we have come in the summer, winter or autumn the apartments have always been spotless and well equipped and we have received a warm welcome. They are also well placed for visiting the beach or many of the Islands other attractions.

“Excellent”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2014

Very accommodating staff and the place was very clean and to a high standard. Location was superb as it was near the beach and the town.

“Annual Trip”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2014

I used to live on the Isle of Wight and my daughter and grand children still live there so we like to visit when we can. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and I have already booked for next year before we left. The apartments are spotlessly clean, towels, bed linen, cooking, cleaning, laundry; everything you need is there. Bigger beer fridge would be nice, but next year I'll take my own!

“relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2014

high quality accommodation with all amenities close to town centre and beech allocated parking also use of amenities of two hotels belonging to group

“A very enjoyable experience”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2014

We were very impressed with the standard of furnishings and the cleanliness of the apartment on arrival. We took our own duvet because we only use a 1 tog in summer and know from experience that those provided in holiday apartments are too heavy. Being picky we were surprised that baking tins were provided but not pizza tins. The hot tub was very clean and enjoyable to use and the opportunity to use the nearby hotel facilities was great. People in the apartment above us had young children who ran about. The hard floors made their footsteps loud. It only happened during the day and didn't cause us any problems. Overall we were very pleased with the apartment.

“island chill out”

Reviewed 8 May 2014

Apartment is modern, clean and set in a nice quiet location opposite gardens. Rooms are light, spacious and well equipped. Downside is the continuous drone from the hot tub situated directly above the lounge, also car parking on both sides of the apartment means there is little privacy. Beach front, shopping areas and other amenities, including Shanklin Chine are just a short stroll away. Very pleasant coastal walks to Sandown and Ventnor. Excellent restaurants and play areas for children. Good public transport. We enjoyed our stay at Shanklin Villas and would return but to a different apartment.

“Very well presented apartment”

Reviewed 31 May 2012

Lovely apartment close to Shanklin village and the beach. Spacious and modern.Kitchen well equipped.

“Luxury apartment you could easily live in and was a very good price.”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2012

Hi my boyfriend and I stayed in one of the apartments and absolutely loved it! It was brand new and felt like home as soon as we arrived. The procedure and admin was very straightforward and we got our deposit back quickly too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend - and it's very good value too.
