Craig Roan is a spacious bright two bedroomed apartment in the pretty seaside village of Rockcliffe in Dumfries and Galloway. This three star Scottish Tourist Board rated self catering accommodation is attached to our home which is also run as a B&B. Situated at the rear of our property giving guests complete privacy and their own small garden. A short walk takes you to the beach and bay.

Rockcliffe is an ideal holiday destination for guests wanting to get away from it all. Excellent cliff and forest walks from our doorstep, quiet roads to tour the area and to see all Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. From Castles to National Trust Properties and Gardens, pretty beaches and unspoilt countryside. The RSPB reserve at Merse Head is a short drive away and the Red Kite Feeding Staion and Threave Ospreys close by. Dalbeattie 7 stanes Mountain Biking Trail is also close by. We offer a bike lock up and drying room.

Rockcliffe and the surrounding area have a mild climate due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. The area became known as the Scottish Riviera in Victorian times and has been a well kept secret holiday destination since then. The land between Rockcliffe and Kippford is owned and managed by the National Trust for Scotland so there are some lovely walks between the two villages. Kippford is a busy yachting village well known for its sailing regatta and here are two pubs serving local Ales and a lovely gift shop.

We offer short breaks all year round with a flexible start date. Three nights minimum.

The accommodation is accessed through the conservatory/lounge with flat screen Freeview Digital TV and DVD player. French doors lead through to the open plan kitchen diner with large pine table and dresser. The compact kitchen is adequate for holiday meal preparation and comprises an electric oven with halogen hob, microwave and small dishwasher. Fridge with ice compartment. No freezer. No washing machine or dryer.

The two bedrooms lead off the dining area. The double room is a bright sunny room with large pine bed and wardrobe. Twin bedroom has built in wardrobes.

Property welcomes two guests only.

All bedding, towels and kitchen linens provided.

Craig Roan is accesed by external stairs and the accommodtion is on one level.

Craig Roan is not suitable for guests under 14 or for guests who find stairs difficult. We are sorry we do not accept pets in Craig Roan however our Drumburn Studio and Loch View Cottage are dog friendly.

Our first visit to this part of Scotland. Lovely scenery, quiet roads, pleasant walking . Great for a short quiet, relaxing break. Friendly welcome and brilliant weather enhanced our stay.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Linda (the owner) a message.

If Linda (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
