How to get there
From Dumfries the scenic way to Rockcliffe is along the A710. This journey brings you along the coast and there are lots of stop off points. New Abbey is the home of Sweet Heart Abbey and a beautiful ruin to look around. Right next door is New Abbey Tea Room for a spot of lunch or afternoon tea. The village also has the attraction of New Abbey Corn Mill to look around and the lovely Shambellie Walled Garden. Futher along the caost its worth a small detour to the coastal villages of Carsethorn and Southerness to see the Light House. There is the scenic view stop of Drumburn and a walk along Sandyhills Beach to put you in the holiday mood.

Getting around
Trains to Dumfries from Carlisle Station which links to all main lines.Car hire in Carlisle. Dumfries is half an hour away by car. Bus number 372 runs along coast from Dumfries to Rockcliffe and will drop you off just opposite Millbrae House. Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports are approx 2 and a quarter hours away. Village shop in Colvend a 15 min walk from Rockcliffe. Car not necessary but to see the sights of Dumfries and Galloway recommended.
