For you to enjoy there is a TV with satellite freeview channels, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs and a Bose Soundlink so you can Bluetooth your music.

The local town (3 min by car) has a number of supermarkets, banks, shops, restaurants and pubs. I can make recommendations of where to eat or visit.

By car, Ness is about 20 minutes from Chester, 30 from Liverpool and an hour from central Manchester. The airports are 50 minutes away. There are bus and train links to Liverpool and Chester.

The estuary is beautiful, big open skies and landscapes - ideal for walks, cycling or bird watching - there's extensive RSPB presence at Burton Mere.

Liverpool University's botanic gardens at Ness is a 10-minute walk. Cheshire Oaks outlet village and Chester Zoo are both about 20 minutes by car.

There are a number of golf courses nearby, including the Royal Liverpool Club (10miles).

“Well situated comfortable bolt hole”

Reviewed 1 Mar 2016

My partner and I spent several days working in the area. We were very pleased to discover The Stables. A well appointed home from home. Warm and peace full with tasteful decor, quality fittings, interesting art and media. Would recommend (even to my mum!)

“Well equipped, very clean, quiet - excellent base for a couple to explore The Wirral”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2016

Neatly converted and attractive stone built property, well equipped and decorated, and very clean and well-kept. The main room is arranged with a lounge area (including satellite TV, a good range of DVDs and travel books) at one end and the kitchen / dining area at the other; then there is a good-sized double bedroom with ample clothes hanging space and a contemporarily fitted bathroom with a good shower. It's efficiently central-heated - very warm and cosy - with a wood-burning stove there as an additional option (although the extra warmth is unlikely to be needed unless the weather is bitterly cold!). We received a very friendly welcome - although the owner lives in the main house adjacent to the property it is still very private and quiet; and in warmer weather (not February!) it would be very pleasant to sit outside in the courtyard (there are chairs and a table). It is also well situated to explore the Dee Estuary: Ness Gardens is a walkable distance or about 5 minutes drive away, and Burton Mere RSPB reserve about 15 mins drive - both well worth a visit. The Wirral Way cycle track is easily accessible, and Cheshire Oaks retail outlet is another short drive away.
