As well as having the many features above, it is an ideal get away as we are lucky enough to be placed in beautiful peaceful surroundings in a lovely village, close to the picturesque wolds, as well as being near the capital of the wolds, Louth, which was voted Britain's favourite market town by Countryfile magazine, and is known for its fantastic food shops.

We are also within a short drive of the famous Cadwell Park, the seaside resort of Cleethorpes, Donna Nook nature reserve where seals come to give birth in November and walking distance from Covenham Reservoir where there are watersports, bird watching and a lovely walk.

If you are here for a romantic break and have any further requirements such as wine, flowers, chocolates etc. please let us know and we will make sure you have whatever you require and will give you a price in advance.

An information folder, containing details of local pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as walk leaflets and brochures on places to visit can be found in your holiday cottage.

We have a great restaurant within walking distance. The Millhouse Restaurant, which is a delightful thatched building with a restaurant and bar as well as outside seating. It has a varied menu and is well worth a visit..
For those of you eating out with dogs,The Cross Keys just one mile in the next village allows dogs in the bar area where you may eat and have access to the full menu.

“Ideal rural retreat”

Reviewed 20 May 2017

Had a fantastic break at the Pigsty. Ideal location to get away from it all. Very thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. Owners are on hand but respect your privacy. Arrived to homemade cakes, very welcoming. Well located within walking distance of a pub. Will definitely return

“The Pigsty Louth”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2017

Had a fabulous holiday at The Pigsty this week, stunning accommodation with everything you need and all finished to high quality, you could want for nothing. I could live there! What made it even more special was not only the gorgeous weather, the empty beaches but the thoughtfulness of Christine leaving fresh eggs and delicious cupcakes for us, together with bed, bowls, towels and treats for Annie too and garden safe and secure so she didn't chase the pheasants! Fabulous meal at Millhouse restaurant last night, within easy walking distance too. Will definitely recommend and will return again soon, thank you Christine and Lindsey!

“Lovely cottage, has everything you need for a fantastic holiday.”

We loved it, the dog loved it. Had a wonderful time exploring the local area. I would recommend this property to others: not something I usually do!!

“Beautiful accommodation in peaceful area”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

We were welcomed by Christine, who had left us various goodies (both for humans and dogs). The Pigsty was clean, light, airy, spacious and comfortable. The location was very peaceful - it was wonderful to sit out in the garden and hear only the birdsong. It was conveniently located to visit some stunning beaches, plenty of country pubs and interesting towns. The garden was secure for the dogs and was in the sunshine most of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and came home refreshed and relaxed. We would love to visit again in the future.

“Fantastic weeks break”

What a great time we had at the pigsty. There was plenty of space for us to unwind and relax, it has a private garden with a lovely view across the countryside. This was a lovely alternative to a hotel, it was very well equipped with everything we needed, the bed was very comfy and an excellent shower. Just remember to take breakfast with you as there isn't a shop within walking distance... We ate out a couple of times at the millhouse restaurant which served great food and would recommend. Lindsey and Christine had excellent local knowledge when we wanted information, we would highly recommend "The Pigsty" and we will be coming back in the future.

“"The Pigsty" by name only!”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2014

As visitors from Canada, my daughter and I spent five days as guests at the Pigsty. What an enchanting self-contained accommodation to stay where we could explore the attractions in Louth and surrounding areas. The suite is immaculate, tastefully decorated and our every need was met by gracious hosts, Linze and Christine. We won't hesitate to make The Pigsty our home away from home on our next visit!
