This detached holiday pig-sty conversion has been beautifully decorated and renovated to a very high standard, and lies adjacent to our home, however is totally independent and private, with its own private garden.

It sleeps two to five people, with a four poster bed and a sofa bed with pull out metal frame and a single z bed. We can also provide a travel cot and high chair for babies.

We welcome guests for holidays, mini breaks, just two nights , or longer term lets which will be offered at a lower rate if more than one month so please contact us for details.

Free Wi-Fi, heating, welcome pack and toiletries.( Please note that although we offer free Wi-Fi we are in a very rural place and Wi-Fi can sometimes be a bit sketchy and may not be as fast as it would be in a town.)

Well behaved dogs are welcome (sorry no Cats) but please inform us if you are bringing your pet .

As well as having the many features above, it is an ideal get away as we are lucky enough to be placed in beautiful peaceful surroundings in a lovely village, close to the picturesque wolds, as well as being near the capital of the wolds, Louth, which was voted Britain's favourite market town by Countryfile magazine, and is known for its fantastic food shops.

We are also within a short drive of the famous Cadwell Park, the seaside resort of Cleethorpes, Donna Nook nature reserve where seals come to give birth in November and walking distance from Covenham Reservoir where there are watersports, bird watching and a lovely walk.

If you are here for a romantic break and have any further requirements such as wine, flowers, chocolates etc. please let us know and we will make sure you have whatever you require and will give you a price in advance.

An information folder, containing details of local pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as walk leaflets and brochures on places to visit can be found in your holiday cottage.

We have great restaurants all within a short drive.

For those of you eating out with dogs,The Cross Keys just one mile in the next village allows dogs in the bar area where you may eat and have access to the full menu.

Getting around

From Covenham although there is no public transport, you are close to Louth, The Lincolnshire Wolds with its many pretty villages, Cleethorpes,Mablethorpe, Theddlethorpe, Donna Nook, Grimsby,Horncastle,Lincoln and many more places to visit . They are easily accessible by car and we are pretty central to them all. There is also a bus and coach station in Louth and a train station in Cleethorpes and Grimsby.

Interaction with guest

When you arrive at The Pigsty we will be on hand to greet you and show you in to the property. Our house is adjacent to The Pigsty but you will be completely secluded with your own garden.However, we will be on hand should you need anything. We are happy for you to knock and ask us for directions, recommendations or if you've just simply forgotten to bring something. Inside The Pigsty you will find a folder with local attractions. We will completely respect your privacy and will not disturb you at all during your stay unless you need us.

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the pigsty. We were staying for my partners birthday and we honestly could not fault it. From the lovely greeting to the added birthday extras it was amazing. We found the dog friendly info really helpful as it allowed us to find a hidden away beach gem, that we would have never discovered on our own. Unfortunately the weather was pretty miserable meaning we got drenched on our time out exploring but it didn’t matter as we were able to get back and get cosy in the pigsty watching DVDs and drinking hot chocolate (pretty perfect)! Thank you, I am sure we will be back!

The cottage was lovely and clean, everything you could need. The cakes were lovely. It's bigger than the pictures seemed to make it, great. Very comfortable and affordable. Christine was very kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

The location was perfect for our exploration of the Wolds. The accommodation was clean and spacious. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room. There were even 'welcome cakes!!' There was everything we needed. Christine and Lindsey were lovely and were available if we needed them. They gave us lots of information about the area which helped us with our house hunting. The Pigsty is in a very quiet road and gives a real taste of the beautiful countryside. We have recommended to friends and family and will be going back. Thanks.

How do damage deposits work?

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lindsey & Christine (the owner) a message.

If Lindsey & Christine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
