Description

A beautifully converted Barn with character set in the boundaries of a 300 year old grade II listed farm house in the peaceful rural village of Old South Hykeham. The Barn conversion features a wood burner in the open plan lower floor, a mezzanine level overlooking the lounge serves as a comfortable dining area.There is a well equipped kitchen on the ground floor, which has a full electric fan oven and grill, a microwave oven, 4 ring ceramic hob, full size dishwasher, separate fridge and freezer. The old apple loft serves as the master bedroom which has a luxurious king size bed, there is an ensuite toilet and basin, as well as a feature roll top bath in the upstairs bedroom. The second bedroom located downstairs is a twin room with two single beds. A large downstairs wet room complements the second bedroom. There is parking available for one car and a dedicated decking area and lawn with BBQ and patio table, chairs and parasol, screened with bamboo. Wifi is available for guests free of charge. The Barn is self-catering and a welcome pack is provided, including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, bread and a home made cake. We are located within a short drive to the City of Lincoln with its famous Cathedral, Castle, and array of local attractions including the Lincolnshire show ground not to mention the famous display team the Red Arrows. With the Castle exhibition of the Magna Carta. Newark is also only a 10 minute drive with its picturesque town centre and show ground, Swinderby antiques fairs are even closer. The barn is suitable for children over 5 years of age, we are happy to accept younger children but we have not childproofed the property. We have a travel cot and highchair also available for use.

We do have a cottage available for rent which has a hot tub, if both properties are booked together then the hot tub can be used by both groups for a small supplement

We had a lovely two nights at Church Farm Barn. A fantastic property - beautifully clean. Lovely fluffy towels, bathrobes, luxurious bed linen. A delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake waiting for us on arrival, as well as a lovely loaf of bread, milk and butter in fridge, cereals, jams, biscuits... Couldn't ask for more. Also, fantastic wetroom with amazing shower and a traditional roll top bath in a corner of the master bedroom! The attention to detail here is send to none. Lovely owners too. I can most highly recommend.

Stayed here for just 2 nights with my adult daughter. We both wished it could have been for longer. This is a perfect holiday cottage situated in a village . We had a quiet and relaxing time. The barn conversion accomodation is both well lit, airy and cosy. It has a downstairs bedroom (with 2 comfy single beds) with easy access to the downstairs wet room and toilet Towels and bathrobes were provided. The downstairs kitchen is really well equipped and includes a dishwasher. The sitting area has 2 comfy sofas. Although there is central heating there's a wood burning stove as well. We didn't need either as the weather was warm. Upstairs is the dining table and chairs on a landing area. Then a door to the main bedroom with king size bed. There's a free standing bath in the bedroom (on a slightly raised area) and a separate loo /wash basin room. We thoroughly recommend this holiday let. Owner Karen and her husband were very friendly but not intrusive. We were left a welcome pack with milk in the fridge, loaf of bread, butter pats, breakfast cereal for the first morning and tea, coffee and biscuits. Best of all was the home made lemon drizzle cake. Yummy! Probably the best holiday cottage I have ever rented for attention to detail to make guests really comfortable.
