Peebles, Melrose and Moffat are just a few of the small towns within easy reach. All have their own unique style, and you will find a range of interesting shops, museums and coffee shops in each place. “Lovely well equipped cottage”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2016

We loved this cottage, it's equipped with everything you would need and more! The welcome pack was an extra special touch, very nice. Jennifer the owner of the cottage was extremely helpful with ideas/suggestions for places to visit and there is plenty of local information provided. The area is lovely, we went on different walks every day and the views are just amazing. By far one of the best holidays I have had! Brilliant place.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We're so pleased you had a good time, and very much hope that you will come back soon and discover some more of the Tweed Valley. Best Wishes, Jennifer

“Perfect Break, wish it could have been longer”

Reviewed 8 Dec 2015

Warm, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. In a quiet but really central position, so well equipped and perfect for dog owners as the walks around about are varied and plentiful. The personal touches make it special, and with excellent restaurants/carry outs I didn't have to cook, despite there being a very well equipped kitchen. Already recommended to friends, especially the ones with dogs. Thank you Jennifer and Megan, and Luke for showing my dogs a lovely walk on a very wet day!

We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and Luke, the greyhound loved the walks just as much as your lovely dogs! It was good too to hear your food recommendations. We will be trying our newest local take away out very soon! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Best Wishes, Jennifer

“Fantastic cottage - it will exceed your expectations.”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2015

We stayed with our two border collies and found Jennifer's lovely cottage absolutely perfect for a dog-friendly break, or any sort of break! She provides everything you could possibly need in any circumstance. Hundreds of books, drawers full of games and toys, loads of bedding, torches, cleaning stuff, condiments. There is even a drawer full of things for a child's party! There is a small enclosed garden and a park at the front of the cottage. The back leads out to a small passage to the main high street of Innerleithen, where there are small shops, cafes and hotels/pubs. The local takeaway services are excellent. The village is small and friendly. Nearby walks are lovely, overlooking the Tweed Valley and there is some really stunning scenery only a short drive away. Jennifer supplied a lovely basket full of treats on our arrival - wine, fresh apple juice, flapjack, eggs, bread, milk and dog treats as well as a full basket of fruit and fresh flowers. If you do have dogs, they will be made to feel welcome with a cupboard full of dog blankets, towels, bowls and biscuits as well as the brilliant idea of having dog tags with the address and phone number on in case they go missing. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the cottage is very nicely decorated and so clean. As dog owners, many dog friendly places we have visited smell and look "doggy". Not this cottage - it was spotlessly clean. Jennifer must work really hard to keep it like that. I would thoroughly recommend Cosaig Self-Catering to anyone - whether they have dogs, young children, are a young couple looking for a romantic break or if you are elderly or disabled - this cottage will suit you perfectly. One other thing - Jennifer stays in touch the whole time you are there, if you need her, and can always offer help and make sure you have everything you need. She contacted us on the first night as a border collie was found in the village and she was concerned it might be on of ours. Well done to Jennifer - and, of course, Luke the greyhound!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. We loved seeing the pictures of your beautiful dogs enjoying the hills, and it's great to hear that you were able to see the beauty of the local area despite the "atmospheric" weather! We're mindful of guests need for privacy but are always happy to be contacted. Thank you so much for such a kind review. I do hope we can welcome you back soon. Best Wishes, Jennifer

“Loved it!”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2015

What a super place. The cottage was warm and cosy. The facilities are second to none. Everything has been thought of and the welcome pack was superb, local produce and a beautiful bouquet. The hello pack for the dogs was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Clean, bright and extremely comfortable beds made this a break we will not forget in a hurry. The surrounding area is stunning and there is plenty to do and see. Dog sitting is available if required. The locals are friendly and welcoming and showed us many hidden gems in the town. We have already booked to go back and celebrate our anniversary. Thoroughly recommended.

Aw thank you so much for leaving such a lovely review :-D We're so pleased that you had a good time...and that you will be back! Best Wishes, Jennifer

“Home away from home for human & hound!”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2015

Simply perfect! From the minute we arrived to the time we came to leave, our every need was met with attention to detail, making our stay as relaxing & pleasurable as possible. Jennifer is so accommodating; welcome pack full of local goodies for us (and our dog) and a personal tour/dog walk around the area to show us the must see sights & best walks! The cottages is equipped with EVERYTHING you could possibly need, and there's even the option of a cooked meal on arrival! Perfect for families, couples, old & young. Also adapted for anyone with physical/mobility impairments too. Cottage is well placed in a quiet location, overlooking the local park, but just a stones throw from the high street where antique shops, local butchers, bakery and a fabulous Indian Takeaway are nestled. Local pubs are cosy and dog friendly. There's also lots of places to visit in the Innerleithen area too. A mountain bikers and walkers paradise. Would heartily recommend to anyone wanting a walking, biking, or relaxing holiday in the Scottish Boarders. Will definitely be back

Thank you so much for a very kind review :-D We're so pleased that you would like to return! Best Wishes, Jennifer

“Fabulous cottage for humans and hounds”

We had a fabulous stay from the moment we arrived (to fresh flowers, fruit, dog treats and more). Jennifer and Megan are so kind and have really catered for every need. Innerleithen is lovely and has great shops and local walks. I'd highly recommend this cottage to anyone, particularly dog lovers.

We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Cosaig. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review :-D

“Perfect! In practically every way!”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2015

Stayed at Cosaig with my husband, my mother & his mother, and our two retired Greyhounds. Had never been to Innerleithen before, and it is a lovely place to stay (husband likes it that much he would retire up there!) We only ventured to Peebles and Galashiels, therefore we have an excuse to return! Cosaig Cottage is like being at home, but better! The bed was so comfy, and the cottage is so clean, and has everything you could possibly need. The owner, Jennifer, is so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back, without a doubt, as my husband loved the café in the town, and we had breakfast there everyday! Next time we stay it will just be the two of us and the houndies.

We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much ....and as for your retirement plans we agree it's a lovely place to live as well as holiday. You wouldn't even need a kitchen, you could just eat at the cafe every day ;-)

“Great cottage, great service.”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2015

I had read that the cottage was well equipped but was still surprised at the extras that were provided. The owner Jennifer goes above and beyond and is happy to give you ideas for days out, walks from the door etc. The cottage is very comfortable and in a nice location in the village. There is a nice back garden to relax in and shops on the doorstep. Would definitely recomend.

Many thanks for your kind review. We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope we will get to see you again :-D
