Description from owner

St Margaret's Cottage is a charming, historic holiday cottage set in and old fashioned garden. It providies self-catering accommodation in the conservation village of Coldingham. Great for walkers, bird watchers, golfers, fishermen and those who just want to enjoy staying in a cosy period property with every possible comfort.

The recently renovated property provides peace and quiet in a secluded location and is only a mile away from the stunning sandy beach at Coldingham Bay.St Abb's nature reserve, famous for its bird life and cliff top scenery is just over a mile from the Cottage.

St Margaret's Cottage is over 100 years old with a host of original features, and has recently been sympathetically restored and refurbished to a very high standard by the present owners to provide clean, comfortable and cosy holiday accommodation. The cottage has a " blue plaque" as it was the home of a writer who found it just the right place to pen his novels which even Tolstoy found excellent.

“Delightful cottage - perfect for a relaxing break”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2015

Delightful cottage with a lovely garden in a secluded setting. Equipped with everything needed and plenty of seating outside to relax in if the weather is good. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Thank you for your kind review which sums it up very well. We get a lot of repeat bookings so we are delighted that so many guests, like you, express the wish to return. Regards. Sally and Malcolm

“Well equipped Cottage in a great location”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2014

This cottage provided us with a warm haven during a very windy and sometimes wet winter break. Plenty of local walks and interesting places to visit.

Thank you for your review. You are right, the cottage is warm and cosy even in mid-winter
