Location description from owner

The England region

The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is perhaps lesser known but is very popular with walkers, cyclists, golfers and other outdoor enthusiasts, offering walks and activities for all ages and capabilities and proves to be a return destination once experienced.

If you are a golfing group please inquire as we have a special golf package we can offer you with reduced green fees at local courses.

Around the county are the attractive market towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, plus visitor attractions including Ironbridge, Stokesay Castle and other National Trust and English Heritage properties. Ludlow is a renowned epicentre for food tourism and the area has a great selection of excellent country restaurants and bars.

Church Stretton

The cottage is located between All Stretton and Church Stretton and although it's alongside the B-road (30mph limit) it's elevated and set back (there are also hedges so the road can't be seen) affording a private outlook directly across open countryside to the impressive Caer Caradoc, The Lawley and valleys. The sense of privacy is immense and few other properties can even be seen. The town of Church Stretton is a level walk along the pavement and takes approx 12 minutes.

“Perfect property for a big family gathering”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2017

I booked Clearviews for my husband's 70th birthday celebration and our party of 13 also included 5 small children. Sara and Mark, the owners are delightful and couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. The house is superb. It is very comfortable, stylish and excellently equipped, ( even 2 dishwashers and 2 enormous fridges plus gadgets galore). The photographs give a true impression of each room but you need to look at the floorplan to appreciate how the spaces flow with separate areas to suit all. We had two gloriously hot sunny days and I would have happily spent my time on the decked area watching the lambs in the endless meadows or spotting the birds flying above. I hesitate to use the overused words, 'stunning' or 'awesome' but in this case they are totally appropriate for the view from Clearviews. However, my time in the hot tub could not last for ever because there is so much to do in the area. The heritage steam train at Bridgnorth was a must on the Saturday and a stone's throw away is Carding Mill Valley(NT) catering for the mountain bikers, orienteers, walkers and paddlers in our party.

“Wonderful week away”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2017

We had a very enjoyable week away with friends in March. Sara was so helpful with suggestions for activities suitable for the young children in our group and the house was stunning. The hot tub was a real luxury to enjoy once the children were in bed! This is the second time we have stayed in the property and will certainly be back in the future. Thoroughly recommend this house as well as the surrounding area - there is something for everyone.

“Perfect weekend”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2017

Booked Clearviews for our annual family weekend away, 11 of us aged between 9 and 58, couldn't have asked for a better venue! Everything we needed was there, comfy beds and fabulous hot tub with amazing views were an added bonus!! Greeted by Sara who explained all we needed to know then left us to enjoy our weekend! Great place, great location, would highly recommend!!

“Group getaway”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2017

This house is beautiful. Renovated to a very high standard and all the pictures are a realistic representation. Sara and Mark could not have been more helpful and were keen to have any feedback that would make things at Clearviews even more perfect. The place is spotlessly clean and really well kitted out. We're booking again, which is probably the best testimonial we could give.

“Terrific Birthday Party House”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2016

We chose CLEARVIEWS to celebrate my Birthday and were totally delighted. The house was so well equipped and views from all of the windows were spectacular. It has the most comfortable huge beds we have ever slept in and there was so much room in the building for all of our party, whose ages range from 5 to 70. Such a welcoming beautifully decorated place, we immediately felt really at home and it is suitable for all generations. My grandson just loved the hot tub and all the toys available for him to use. The owners were very helpful lovely people who even managed to bring in an armchair especially for me. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they even left me a bottle of bubbly in the fridge to celebrate my 70th. On their recommendation we had a catering company to cook my special Halloween birthday meal. The meal was just perfect and all 11 of us were most impressed. The chef cooked, washed up and put all the dishes away, brilliant.! It's the best self catering holiday home we have been to, at the last count we have been to at least 20. So if you get a chance do go to CLEARVIEWS

“Brilliant for friends and family”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2016

Had a great stay with friends and family - 7 adults and 5 kids - all loved it. Very private and child friendly - the chef on the saturday night made it nice and relaxing too.

“first class accommodation”

We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes this is up there with the best will definitely return thanks Sara you have a great place to stay in a beautiful area Graham and friends

“Fantastic house! Amazing place!”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2016

Wonderful house to stay for a hen party, there were 8 of us and there was so much room. Each room has an ensuite and the living room has plenty of space for everyone to sit round. Knitted out with lots of technology. Wifi is really good, and although you have to be careful of the noise outside at night inside the house is well sound proofed, so you won't need to worry. The hot tub is great, very clean and there's plenty of room for everyone, also lots of seating outside and the views are amazing!! The kitchen has everything including a nutri bullet and lots of appliances, everything you would need for a party!! Massive fridge and then there's another fridge/freezer in a utility room. Also easy to clean up as there's hard floors and leather sofas so you won't be worrying about spillages during your stay. Everything is very clean, decor is very tasteful and the owners are really lovely and very helpful! When we couldn't connect to the Internet they helped us straight away! Would recommend to anyone to stay here!

“Great for family gatherings.”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2016

Having spent a long weekend here with my wife, three children, their partners and seven grandchildren, I can honestly say that the property worked well in terms of space and facilities. With each bedroom having its own en-suite meant that getting ready for the day didn't take all morning sharing bathrooms. The views from the large windows and in the garden are constantly evolving with changes in sunlight and local wildlife. If you feel you need a change of scenery, visit NT Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd just a mile or so away, rated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The owners are extremely approachable and are more than willing to recommend or advise on any questions regarding the property or local amenities.

“Lovely house in a beautiful location”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2016

The house was pristine, well equipped and beautifully decorated. We spent a long weekend with extended family including 6 children and it was perfect for all of us. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, before, during and after our stay. Nice area with something for the whole family, we would love to come back again and can highly recommend.
