The Long Mynd in Church Stretton and The Stiperstones beyond also offer a great variety of circular walks ideal for the hill-walking enthusiast combining the day with a pub lunch or a picnic.

This too is Ideal central location for visiting the market towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth, the Ironbridge Museums and many other local attractions, historic houses and gardens, all within easy reach.

“Long barn Shropshire”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2017

Margreat & jim We're most obliging if u needed any thing it was there in a flash. The barn we stayed in was beautiful you couldnt have wished for anything Margreat wss around & would stop for a chat at a drop of a hat but also if you want time alone you had it they were not intrusive at all. We were well in the country side so unless you are a good walker you do need your car church Stretton Is about 10 miles away which is the first main shopping place they have a co op so you can pick the odd bits up. I would recommend this place & i give it 5 out of 5 The only thing you cant control is the weather so bring some wet gear

Owner's reply: Many thanks Jane. We are so pleased you and your parents enjoyed your stay with us despite the rather changeable weather. Kind regards Margaret

“A peaceful , relaxing stay !”

I booked here last Minuite and I'm so pleased we did, the cottage was gorgeous ! A warm atmosphere, and everything you could possibly want in the country side. Not too far from church Stretton, it was an ideal base to explore. The kids loved it so much , they were happy enough around the cottage. The owners are lovely , welcoming and easy to get along with ! Will be coming back !! X

Owner's reply: Many thanks Poppy for this very kind review - much appreciated. Margaret

“Lovely cottages, among the best we've stayed in”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2015

We've stayed in quite a few holiday cottages in England and France and these are easily amongst the best. We've been coming back regularly for five or six years mostly to Granary cottage and lately to the Long Barn. They are both very well equiped, tastefully decorated, clean, cosy, warm and surrounded by gorgeous countryside with a splendid view of Wenlock Edge. The owners are a lovely couple who have become friends over the years. Please note that the nearest town (Much Wenlock) is about 5 miles away so own transport is a must.

Owner's reply: Dear Richard Many thanks - it was good to see you all again and we look forward to another visit at some time in the future. Kind regards Margaret

“Paradise Found”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2015

We have been holidaying in these cottages for years and both The Granary and The Long Barn are home from home. You receive a friendly welcome, with a tea tray laid and a vase of flowers; the cottages are clean, well equipped and comfortable. Although a car is essential you could spend all day just gazing at the incredible views and drinking in the peace and quiet; in fact one year, we went it was so hot that, that is just what we did. In nearby Much Wenlock and Church Stretton there are some great "foodie" shops for supplies. We haven't run out of things to do and places to see even after over a decade of visits, and long to return.

Owner's reply: Dear Stephanie Many thanks for this - I will email you later to catch up. Margaret

What a wonderful barn. So quiet, so relaxing as well as close by to amenities and beautiful villages. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely come back.

Owner's reply: Many thanks - this is much appreciated. Look forward to seeing you all again at some stage. Margaret & Jim

“So peaceful and relaxing - superb accomodation”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2015

A really superb location for a rural peaceful break. In easy striking distance of Ironbridge, and several great National Trust Properties along with Wroxeter Roman Town. The Long Barn is great for the less mobile (although there is a step to get in and 1 internal step)and it is well appointed and comfortable. Good parking with great views from the garden. Margaret and Jim are great hosts. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Many thanks-greatly appreciated. Margaret&Jim
