Location description from owner

The England region

Bradford on Avon is a beautiful town on the edge of the Cotswolds. As well as parks, there are riverside and canal walks. With its own Tithe Barn and Saxon Church, Bradford has many historic buildings. It has a great choice of places in which to eat and many fine pubs. It has an indoor swimming pool.

Bath is only 10 minutes away by train or 15 minutes by car. It is a fabulous city to visit any time of year, with its Georgian splendor, thermal spas and Roman history, museums, art galleries and diversity of restaurants and cafes. Visit its Christmas markets. Or walk along the canal or follow the Bath Skyline.

There is cycle hire available in Bradford on Avon, and there are many good cycle routes - for example take the Kennet and Avon canal towpath to Bath.

Bradford-on-Avon

This cottage makes a very sensible base from which to explore the Cotswolds. The National Trust and English Heritage have many houses and gardens in the area. Great Chalfield Manor and The Courts in Holt are only three miles away.

The beautiful Lacock village (a favourite for film and TV producers for its picturesque streets and historic cottages) is a 25 minute drive away and Castle Combe is always worth a visit any time of year. You will find Stonehenge and Longleat Safari park are very close by.

“Spotlessly clean and contemporary, in a great location for visiting the South West.”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2014

We are a family of four, with 10 and 12 year old children. The property had everything we needed, and was beautifully warm. Although the cottage has a small footprint, the rooms have been carefully arranged and we didn't feel cramped. One small drawback if you're infirm is that any carparking is some way from the cottage, and it's pretty hilly! The stunning views go quite some way to redeeming that small issue. Fabulous kitchen, and very comfortable beds. A good stay, and recommended.
