Very Good

“Stylish retreat, fabulous views”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2017

Maggie has great taste and style. From sofa to throws, artwork to books, Smeg fridge to 6 hob, double oven - the house has everything you need for a comfortable stay! Lovely bedding and great hot shower! The sitting room comfortably seats 3 people. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need - we made Christmas lunch - and had enough serving dishes for eight different vegetables! The only addition that might be helpful would be a knife sharpener- the knives in the block seemed new - but didn't cut very easily! Minor detail - mentioned as a to do not a complaint! Would thoroughly recommend- beautiful bath stone house on picturesque terrace. Luggage can be carried in on the flat from the end of the terrace. Parking is at the top or bottom of a very steep hill - and so access to the cottage is on foot via steps and sloped pathways. Easily accessible to all who have full mobility - and a very short walk. You won't find a nicer place to stay!

“A wonderful week”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2017

We are a family of four (2 children 14 and 12). We spent a week at 12 Tory in July. We loved, loved, loved the cottage. The setting, the décor, the kitchen, the comfortable beds, everything had been thought of. I have even taken a few design ideas to use back at my own home. I am definitely recreating the mini library in the corner of the living area. The area of Tory is high up overlooking Bradford on Avon, the walk in to town takes about 2 minutes down some steps, the walk up a bit longer, but nowhere near as bad as it first seems, we walked it many times during the week. Free car parking on road or car park behind. Kitchen has everything you need, modern and roomy. Living area, loved the sofa, a desk area, and the mini library (as mentioned earlier). The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in with gorgeous bedding. My kids have told me I have to recreate 'Maggie's beds' at home!!! The view from the bedroom windows is outstanding. I would open the windows first thing every morning and just take in the world quietly while waking up - bliss!! Bradford on Avon is a beautiful village, a good place to base yourself for seeing the local sights. We went to Trowbridge, Bath, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Bicester Village, Newbury, Westbury to see the White Horse that can been seen from the cottage windows. The trains run very frequently from the very quaint Railway Station to Bath, Bristol, London etc. We are sorry to leave but feel very privileged to have stayed in this beautiful cottage. Thank you Maggie and thank you for the extremely friendly welcome.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your amazing review. Hope to see you again sometime. Maggie

“Spotlessly clean and contemporary, in a great location for visiting the South West.”

We are a family of four, with 10 and 12 year old children. The property had everything we needed, and was beautifully warm. Although the cottage has a small footprint, the rooms have been carefully arranged and we didn't feel cramped. One small drawback if you're infirm is that any carparking is some way from the cottage, and it's pretty hilly! The stunning views go quite some way to redeeming that small issue. Fabulous kitchen, and very comfortable beds. A good stay, and recommended.
