Description from owner


Lane End Cottage is a beautiful detached family holiday home. The rooms are light and spacious. It has a large garden perfect for relaxing and barbecues. There is plenty of room for parking and boats etc. It is only 500 yards from the lovely Lane End Beach, with sand, rock pools, safe swimming and boating. It has traditional beach huts,the newly rebuilt lifeboat station and a beach cafe serving local seafood where you can you can enjoy splendid views of the Solent.
The house is 100 yards from an excellent local supermarket (open from 7.00 - 10.00 every day).
It is a short walk from the well known Crab and Lobster pub overlooking the Solent.
A beach hut is also available as an optional extra.

Nice sized house, with four large bedrooms one downstairs bedroom and wet room perfect for elderly. House remains cool even on the hottest days. Just a short stroll from local beach, good selections of shops locally. Home from home.

Lane End Cottage is very conveniently located in Bembridge, just a few hundred yards from a well stocked Co-Op supermarket (which includes the local Post Office). It's a short walk the other way to the beach near the Lifeboat Station. The bus stop to both Sandown and Ryde is just opposite the supermarket - handy if you don't want to drive for a change. We caught the bus to both Sandown and Seaview and walked back into Bembridge along the coast path. For eating out the Spinnaker pub just a bit further on from the supermarket does excellent meals - we ate there twice. Two other pubs with good food and good beer are also within easy walking distance - the Crab & Lobster and the Old Village Inn. Downstairs the house has a large living room, a double bedroom with adjacent wet room (shower, sink, toilet) and a well-equipped kitchen/diner. Upstairs are 3 more bedrooms and another bathroom with shower/bath, sink and toilet. There's a nice secluded garden with table & chairs for sitting outside in the sun and plenty of room for parking out the front. There's pretty much all you could require in the house - washing machine, tumble dryer, dish washer, fridge, freezer, microwave, TV, DAB radio, loads of beach towels, board games etc. Peter the owner replied to our queries very quickly and was very helpful. We were extremely pleased with our stay at Lane End Cottage and highly recommend it.

I cannot recommend this beautiful cottage enough. Booking was so simple with Peter always just an email away if I had any questions. The cottage had so much room and such a beautiful garden to enjoy the sunshine in. The cottage also had everything you need to have such a wonderful holiday. The location was excellent, with a shop 200 yards up the road. Plus if you head in the opposite direction you have the a lovely little spot by the sea, where you can sit and watch all the ship's go by. Will definitely use the next time we visit the island.

We stayed here for a week over the Easter break. The cottage is in an ideal location, very comfortable and well equipped. A short walk down the lane brings you to the beach where there is the lifeboat station and café. The beach has some sandy areas but mainly rocks and pebbles, very interesting beach, lovely to walk along. The cottage has a beach hut on the front which is equipped with deck chairs etc. The cottage is also in easy walking distance of the shops and pubs. We would recommend ‘The Crab and Lobster Inn’ which is very friendly and with very good food.

Stayed in Lane End Cottage in August of this year for a week and all I can say is it was fantastic. All the rooms were lovely and there was lots of space for the seven of us. Five adults and two children. We all had a great time and will definitely be thinking of visiting the cottage again. A great base to explore the island from and the lovely crab and lobster pub just a five minute walk from the house. All correspondence with Peter the owner was great and I give the whole experience of the cottage five stars Dave Richards

A beautiful cottage that's deceptively large. 1 double bedroom downstairs, 1 double and a huge twin bedroom upstairs. Large downstairs wet room and a family bathroom upstairs. Kitchen is very well equipped with everything u need. We used the private side garden lots and had a couple of barbecues. The driveway out front has plenty of room for 2 cars. There are thoughtful touches such as a bottle of wine on arrival and DVDs, games and books for all the family. We all really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Lane End Cottage was a wonderful base for our holiday on the Isle of Wight. The cottage is lovely, very comfortable and much more spacious than it appears from the outside. It really was only a few minutes walk from the beach in one direction and the shops and facilitiies of Bembridge in the other, including a convenience store only 30 seconds away. The owner was very helpful both in the initial booking and accomodating our young children (organising a cot, high chair and stairgate for us). We would highly recommend Lane End Cottage.
