Part of a former out building 'The Mistal' has been converted to a very warm and comfortable holiday home. Beautifully set on ground floor level, the well equipped semi detached accommodation has one bedroom, with a king size bed, which can be divided into two singles, there is a full bathroom with shower over bath. All bedding and towels are included; a hair-dryer is also provided Living and dining area with ample seating and includes a large TV/DVD player with Freeview and a radio. Wifi is available in this property A very realistic electric wood burning stove gives a great instant atmosphere. A small selection of games, books and DVD's are also supplied.Through an arch way is a modern kitchen which features a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge, gas hob, and electric oven. The property has gas central heating throughout and has ample hot water; also double glazing. Off road gated parking for one car is located within the property grounds. The patio area is south facing; patio furniture

Chatsworth House, Crich Tramway Village and Carsington Water with fishing, sailing, bird watching, bike hire and walks are all within a short driving distance. There are cycling trails and cycle hire based close by. The towns of Belper, Ashbourne, Wirksworth, Bakewell and Buxton are all within easy reach. Belper is the nearest and only 1 mile from your door and was voted the Best Market Town 2014 .Belper was also named the overall champion high street winner it has lots of local history and parts of which have World Heritage status. Alton Towers is roughly 45 minutes by car; smaller theme parks Gulliver's Kingdom and The Height's of Abraham are within 20 minutes drive. Walkers will find a criss-cross of public footpaths to suit all levels in the immediate local area; the Midshires way passes directly past the property. There are many dining options in the local area, from local pubs serving traditional fare, to Indian and Italian restaurants. A second adjoining two bedroom property, 'The Byre', is also available for rental if more space is needed for a larger party of people. In the heart of England the Derbyshire Dales have so much to offer for the tourist . The Peak district is nearby for dramatic views, rivers and moorland.An ideal place to explore, with plentiful walks and cycle tracks of varying difficulty, to accompany the beautiful Derbyshire scenery. Cycle hire is available throughout the region at various popular trails with the closest being at Carsington Water, only a 15 minute drive away from our holiday accommodation with for fishing , boat hire, water sports and wildlife centre . The landscape may be our biggest free attraction, but there are plenty of other places to visit nearby that will take your breath away. Derbyshire's abundance of history is available for all to see at stately homes such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall. The Crich Tramway Village is also within easy reach. For the thrill-seeking individual Alton Towers is 45 minutes away with smaller theme parks Gulliver's Kingdom and The Heights of Abraham around 20 minutes away. We can also help arrange outdoor guided activities such as kayaking and rock climbing upon request
Centrally located in The Derbyshire Dales, Blackbrook is close to the town of Belper which is located in the Derwent Valley Heritage Corridor. Strutt's historic Mill stands next to the River Derwent with its unusual horseshoe weir, tranquil Riverside Gardens with colourful borders and central bandstand. Derwent Valley's visitor centre is located in North Mill.The City of Derby is only 20 minutes drive away where world famous Royal Crown Derby have a visitor centre and factory shop. The tourist towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne are also a short drive away with an abundance of markets and events happening throughout the year. There are nearby restaurants ranging from traditional pub fare and a wide range of international cuisine. Belper is home to a large number of shops including a Morrisons supermarket.

“Wonderful 'get-away' for two!”
Mistal is a very comfortable cottage in a pleasant location. It was beautifully clean with fresh flowers and a tea-time snack provided. We enjoy walking and cycling and suitable trails are within easy reach. If you want a meal out, there are some excellent restaurants within 4 miles of the cottage. Helen is an excellent hostess! All in all, a great place to stay!
“An exceptionally peaceful and relaxing stay”
I enjoyed a most peaceful stay in August of 2014. Helen is very accommodating and ensures she is on hand to attend to all needs. I was impressed with her consistent high level of service and attention to detail throughout the booking process which continued throughout my stay. The location of The Mistal is very accessible and the plentiful amenities at Belper are only a short distance away, "George's Tradition" fish and chip shop at Belper is definitely worth a visit! The local (and wider) area is very picturesque with beautiful rolling hills. There are plenty of tourist attractions within easy reach of The Mistal and there are lots of scenic walks nearby too. During my stay, I decided to have a stroll to "The Hanging Gate" public house, which is only around a 10 minute walk away. The food was delicious and the beer was good too. Turning to The Mistal itself, the cottage is very clean with all the usual necessities (and more) in all of the right places. The Mistal is peaceful with a relaxing living room, well fitted kitchen, clean bathroom and very comfortable beds. There are plenty of leaflets containing information of local "things to do" and Helen has put together a fantastic folder detailing all the things you would wish to know in order to get the most out of your stay. I very much recommend a visit to The Mistal or indeed the adjoining cottage.
