Nestled in two acres with gorgeous views over the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Oaks is a superb place for a celebration or a holiday with family and friends.
There are some fantastic walks available from the garden gate onto The National Trust's Long Mynd Estate, while younger guests will be blown away by the games and cinema rooms. This part of Shropshire is fit to bursting with things see and do; historic houses and castles; the famous Ironbridge Gorge Museums; beautiful traditional market towns, including gourmet Ludlow and Shrewsbury; and great golf just five minutes down the road at the Church Stretton Golf Course.
This spacious and comfortable home-from-home offers modern luxury in the heart of the countryside and is elegantly furnished throughout with airy living spaces. It benefits from five spacious bedrooms, three of which are en suite and one with an additional day bed. The sleeping accommodation is flexible (two of the bedrooms have zip and link super king beds) making it ideal for different combinations of guests.
The delightful well equipped kitchen leads to a dining room with stunning countryside views and there are two further ground floor living rooms and an upstairs games room.
The lovely enclosed garden of approximately two acres has two large patios facing west and south with teak outdoor furniture, a barbecue and fire bowl for cooking and camp fires! With stunning views over the Shropshire hills, it's the perfect social spot for alfresco dining. There's no one to disturb here - the gardens and grounds are completely private. You can also hire a hot tub to soak up the peace (and your tired muscles) and toast the views of the hills beyond.

The Location:
The Long Mynd and Stretton Hills provide excellent walking, strolling and bird watching for everybody whatever the time of year. From gentle walks in the valleys besides the streams to more strenuous hikes for the more serious rambler or cyclists. Numerous walks and mountain bike rides start from the front gate, which leads directly onto Long Mynd's 5,000 acres of heather-covered Moorland owned by the National Trust.
Church Stretton, two miles away at the heart of the Long Mynd, is set amid striking scenery and is often described as “Little Switzerland”. It boasts a large Co-op, a variety of tea rooms, pubs, specialist shops, a large antique centre and the challenging Church Stretton Golf Club on the top of the Long Mynd. Local country pubs in the surrounding villages with great food, open fires and real ale.
The Oaks is not only a haven for walkers but is also the ideal spot for exploring Shropshire. Its central position makes it within easy reach of the historic towns of gastronomic Ludlow, Medieval Shrewsbury, Ironbridge with it famous Ironbridge Gorge Museums, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth with the famous Severn Valley railway. Not forgetting the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, and a host of National Trust and English Heritage properties including Attingham House and Park and Stokesay Castle.
Plus, a packed schedule of year round events. For the winter months, check out the sleigh full of festive activities at Attingham Park; or in Spring and Autumn catch one of Ludlow's famous foodie festivals in May and September.
